Well, makes sense, but that would depend on how close your third person is. I mean, it seems weird to me to have a third person that teeters between limited and omniscient, and to be calling characters Mom and Dad.
I prefer that people not use it in *my* LJ in unlocked posts, because I know ooky people I am trying to avoid from my past have LJs with mutual friends, and I like my fake sense of having an actual secret identity.
