I wasn't thinking about that at all, because I am well aware that what I feel about whether people care is divorced from the reality of whether people care. I'm just unwilling to speak unless to say something to impress the whole room. Or unless it sparks a rollicking good discussion. If someone doesn't praise me or hit me back with thinky points I feel tragically defeated. I am well aware that this is my own failing, and it makes participating in fandom difficult.
