I would love to do a piece like this set during "Destiny," in which Dru parallels Angelus and William both wanting to possess her as Angel and Spike both loving Buffy (with an echo of Angel and Connor both loving Cordy, because poor poor father of Oedipus; Angel's son-figure always mack on his love interests ;o) Yes, and by extension Buffy is a substitute for Darla and what would ever happen if Connor met Buffy? ;) That’s such an interesting idea! I would be really intrigued to read that. I do hope the idea comes to some fruition. And it’s very interesting with Spike and Connor - I always wish there was a bit more recognition between the two in the show; even just a small in-joke like the scene between Xander and Spike in Beneath You. It would have been neat to see Connor and Spike trying to figure each other out, all the while getting a bit jealous about how much they mean to Angel ::sigh:: Guess that’s where fanfiction steps in! But frankly, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume Dru knows and sees everything--she's just that crazy. Now, whether William actually helped to "settle" her thoughts--that's a really interesting theory. I guess no-one ever really knows what Dru sees. But it’s not really a stretch - not when she predicted turning Darla, 120 years later, just before Drusilla turned William. I guess William’s role was to ‘settle’ her, or rather take her away from the other two. I just wondered how he succeeded. Or, rather, he kept her diverted for over a hundred years so… Btw, I’m guessing that you did read peasant_’s recent essay on Drusilla? But again, many congrats on a wonderful story.
