part of me can get consumed by imagery a lot more easily than by characters
Not me. I don't do well with aesthetics; I don't notice a lot of stuff. In film class I was always thematic/cultural/historical girl, while friends of mine would analyze angles and shadows and stuff. I'm a terrible comic book reader, because if I don't actively think about it, I'll read the bubbles and forget to look at the pictures!
Poetry on the other hand, which I think is all about imagery over character, is hit and miss with me.
For me, mostly miss. Unless there's STORY. So I can do Coleridge. Or Poe.
I was very proud of that sentence, but I wasn't sure it'd make sense to anyone else.
For my part, I loved it. So you can rest easy.
I love love love to see what people think. Thanks so much.
Pleasure is all mine. Do you know how nice it is to meet someone interested in your work whose work you like?? Damn, girl, you rock.
