I agree really enthusiastically with you :-)

I am really jaded about superheroes and dead and/or terrible dads, so I loved that Miles's dad was doing his best to be a good dad (and in particular his talk to Miles through the closed door was So Good. Miles is in no doubt that he is loved and valued, even if he's not always understood.)
