Sorry for the tears, but yeah, the end made me feel pretty morose as well. I always thought the big angsty sorrow of that unshown scene in S6 was them still loving each other, but realizing more than ever that they can't be together. But it's not just that--it's that, as you say, he can't "fix" her, and for her that's such an end of innocence. She'll always love him, but the shattering-of-illusion moment are a falling out of love at the same time, and realizing you don't love someone (or at least, don't love someone quite as you did) really really hurts. I think it hurts more than realizing someone doesn't love you back (though that's not what's happening here, of course; I'm just saying).

And the lack of punctuation at the end was fun. I felt so naughty (lookee I'm breaking rules! WheeeeeeeSPLAT!)
