Thank you for your explanation about tags. I still don't really get all the lj do-dads. I should just sit down and have me a good read of the FAQ. But seriously, what's the fun in that, when I can make you do the work for me?

So I can use my own entries on my reading-list as a marker.

That's what I thought. I get so lost on my flist, and I wondered whether friending yourself helped at all. Or whether it was just, you know, a little personal titillation to see yourself on your flist and know that you're your own friend who loves you very very much.

It's usually fairly clear whether she or he does or not.

Hadn't thought about it that way. I think I have phobias about being rude. But I myself love it when other people get in discussions on my journal. Then again I have voyeuristic kinks so it's hardly surprising.

I'd probably wonder what's up that spurred them to choose to make that comment and say nothing else.

It's because they loved your story so much they couldn't stand to see a typo blemish it. And because they think you're such a genius, like Spock whoa mind meld, they also think that you percieve this immediately and that no other comment is required. Because we're good enough; we're smart enough, and doggoneit, people like our fanfic.
