Hey, sorry I'm coming to this rather late. There's some great work in here with the connections of themes and images in the connected fics. Most of the "five things" fics I've read in the past seemed discrete pieces to me, rather than entities bound to each other as the intertwined and kaleidescoping narrative accomplishes with your five parts here. I quite like the idea of drawing those threads all the way through each of the five segments with repeated words and borrowing/thieving images from one segment to the next. It gives you such a richness to the narrative.

There's a way that the language highlights and unfolds the beauty and ugliness that's a part of Ats especially, and I found myself thinking that a number of the passages captured the mood of the series really well. The characterization is played out perhaps less well -- though I felt like the actions were things the characters would do, I didn't always believe that the characters think or say or inhabit some of the words and images expressed here.

Overall I think the story does some excellent world-building, and I admire your skills there very much. Thanks for the thought-provoking read.
