Yeah, one thing I should've included in this rant, because it's really important to me, is how much it irks me to see bashing and insults labeled as "constructive criticism." I like to give con crit, and that kind of thing gives con crit a bad name. And like I said, no matter how reasonably or politely you give the critique, if you don't make the author feel like you actually liked the story and are doing this to help them, they're not going to want to fix their fic. They're going to want to lash out or hide away.
