This is unrelated but I was thinking recently about how I probably respond much better to concrit on older fics, or at least ones that I have a little bit of distance from (and it doesn't have to be that much). Except for the fact that I can totally take it in the beta process. I guess there's something about the moment after you take a breath and decide to post...or something.
And when I say "better," I don't just mean "my feelings aren't hurt," I mean that I'm actually able to process it more effectively. But this is probably also because I find that I "concrit" the hell out of my work after it's not quite so fresh-piping-hot anyway.
