I'm sure it was okay for the moment, but Buffy's look in S1 was groossss. She was a cute little chip-munky teen, but dark brown lipstick and weird ass eyeshadow colors really didn't help. And a leather jacket with a so-80s-it's-not-even-funny poofy prom dress? EW....! I'm thinking that the late nineties weren't QUITE that ugly, they just had a low budget and fished out her outfits from a dumpster. But I still thought she was pretty :)
