Hee! I'm glad you liked it. It's EATING MY LIFE.

Not only is this true of Angel, but it's also very true of Buffy. I never thought of it this way, but this is pretty much her entire problem in season 7. She has no idea how to deal with a group of refugees any more than Angel does.

Um, I don't know about this. Angel really isn't big with the organization, or structure, but I think he does know how to lead. So if/when he faces it, he could get those things done one way or another. I personally feel like Buffy knows how to lead as well--even a group of refugees--but I don't think she really faces it. Which is her problem with leading. She can't be the utter hard-ass she needs to be because she's too nice, so when she tries to be it she just comes off like a ruthless bitch. Imo, if she was vamped, then ensouled, she could do it. I think Angel really can only do it because of Angelus.

The question is, does Angel want that burden or not. I personally think he vascilates on the question. He tends to do it because he's the type that takes on responsibilty but the price he keeps paying is hardly bearable.

I completely agree, and that's what this fic was supposed to be about. He was taking it on because he was the type, but he didn't want to pay the price. But imo, once Connor gets involved, fuck the price pretty much all the way to anywhere. He would do anything to make things safe for Connor.

I'm not sure I buy Harmony being there. With so much free food running scared outside (especially at first), I can't see her willingly going back to cow. She's an opportunist.

That makes a whole lot of sense. There was a mini-plot bit about them actually finding Harm and having to save her, and that was the whole reason she was there. But I cut that bit for any reasons and just made her come and stay, which I agree, might not work. Then again, there're a bunch've thing much bigger and badder than her out there, that would break her just 'cause. Huh. It's something I'll think about, so thanks! I like writing like this because a detail like that, I can chew on it, and maybe come up with a story about it if one strikes me. I feel so...relaxed.

LA is big enough that they might not run into them immediately, but there have to be some slayers on the scene. Maybe not the chosen two, but at least a couple. So, I wouldn't say it's a nitpick, but it is something I'd expect to see eventually.

It's unclear to me the number of Slayers per capita. For all that LA is so big, I could see there not being another Slayer in the city at all. But anyway, I have so many ideas for stories in my head, but one or two of them did involve meeting up with some Slayers. And if I ever get that far, Faith! But never Buffy, because I can't write Spike, Angel, and Buffy without turning the fic into something else.

Thank you so much for your comments! I love your brain!
