This is such a wonderful and painful premise for an AU playground -- I say painful because the idea of Connor not recognizing Angel is sad. But offers so many opportunities for juicy angst!

I think you have a good take on Angel as he would be post-NFA re: responsibility for all these survivors. The burden of guilt would be heavy upon him, and he wouldn't be eager for more followers. Only Connor would give him reason to change that.

I love the conversation between him and Spike regarding their differences about responsibility at the end.

Connor seems to be starting off on the classic teenage son rocky relationship with his father even though he doesn't *know* Angel is his father. After all, Angel did do the classic overprotective, let-me-take-care-of-everything-because-I-can-do-it-better-than-you fatherly bit himself!
