Ah, it is so great to Angel's swings from depressed and homeless, to vain, to self-assertive, to threatening... and it's all Angel, all these traits are in him. (I love this character!)

I wanted it to be really creepily intimate; every once in a while someone you meet right off the bat calls you "honey" or "sweetheart"--even to men.

I see what you mean. Germans are way too reserved for that though. Or at least the language is too reserved. The first time I was in Canada and some old lady called me 'darling', I was seriously taken aback. After the second time I figured it must be some cultural difference. In German you also wouln't use the word 'love' outside a romantic relationsip. It just sounds weird. I do love my friends and my parents, but I'd never phrase it like that - it would sound over the top, while said in English it sounds perfectly fine to my ears.

I don't know how Lorne pulls off the pastry-calling...
