Yes! Lovely and strange and odd. I think your right that parts of it might be tightened up (especially section 1) but I think that's sort of minor.

So, my take.

1. Spike's view of them. Which is somewhat right, somewhat wrong but completely funny. I could pretty much quote almost all of it because it kept making me snort. Which is not ladylike at all.

2. the Angel/Spike relationship. Which is pretty far removed from the Angel/Buffy relationship in terms of power dynamics. One thing Maren made me realize about my story (because I do things sort of unconsiously) is that during the sex scene they are both alpha and beta to each other, pretty much all at the same time. Which is one reason I like them together, I think they fluidly shift dynamics. But Spike, no matter how much he may rail, is beta to Angel's Alpha.

3. the Buffy/Spike relationship. Her acceptance of the darkness that lies within her. That "wallowing in the dirt" doesn't make you evil or weak.

4. Spike's view of the idealized Buffy/Angel relationship. Which again isn't completely right but at the same time is right on the money. That they are this circle of two and they don't need anything else to complete them; they just are. Like some freakish force of nature.

5. And finally what Spike's secret desire is - to be accepted and wanted and loved by both of them. I hope he gets his wish.
