Do you mean a lot of that realism element? As in, you couldn't just show the difficulties landing a space ship, you'd have to show the difficulty of unloading cargo, too, etc?
One thing I was talking about with someone else in this thread was the fact that that kind of realism, which we normally eliminate for purposes of narrative flow, can indeed be *very* effective if we make use of them in a fic or story or tv episode. But for a whole series of tv, or for every fic we write, it would become terribly boring--which is of course why those elements are eliminated in the first place.
