Oh, no, I didn't think you were being coarse. Like I said, lobsters = funny, and if you have no knowledge/don't connect it with his problems at the time, what's not to love about lobster RPS?

Also. I don't think it's morally wrong, imo, for someone to write RPS that deals with someone's real problems but that doesn't deal with the actual issues carefully or seriously. Basically I believe people should be able to do what they want with fiction. But personally, it's not my cuppa, because in that situation I find dissassociating reality and said fiction much more difficult.

I do tend to think, though, that that kind of thing blurs the line for others, too; I mean, if people were excited about NB's problems, that's proof of that diminishing discernment. As if they don't see the difference between fic!Nb and rl!NB. Which *is* wrong, imo, because it leads to ...stuff like people giving that SV guy sex toys, or whatever. The whole reason I'm alright with RPS (in fact, love RPS) is it's about fantasy. If you take it into RL there's something wrong with you.
