I liked it 'cause I wasn't at all interested in Anne Rice vampires. The fact that BtVS vamps had bumpy faces and growled n' shit spake to me of them not trying to prettify these creatures. Then of course there was Angel, but he still is that ugly thing that growls and stuff.

It's been a long, long time since I read a really well-written fic with growling and purring. That's sad.
