Veddy interesting discussion. I totally agree on the wishy-washiness of Lee's sudden idealism because while I totally believed him on the stand they certainly didn't make his motives clear enough when he first got involved with the case. I think they should've constructed that a little more carefully.
I'm not sure about Adama, though. On the one hand his complete falling out with Lee makes sense to me because it happened immediately after Kara died. I think that had a major effect on his actions and I think Adama probably had some irrational resentment towards Lee. And maybe Lee had a difficult time articulating all the reasons he wanted to defend Baltar because his father calling him "a liar and a coward" were too much for him. I dunno.
I have a serious love for S3. There were definitely a few clunkers but overall, I thought they did a brilliant job, particular in the first half of the season. I think the first seven eps were unbelievable.
