And it's something I love doing when I write (how successful I am is of course something else entirely, but I love the concept) - letting characters communicate wordlessly or dropping clues to later (or earlier) happenings that might only be revealed many chapters further on.
That's fabulous. I tend to be dismal at it. I mean, my whole reason for writing fanfic is to fill in the holes. So generally when I write I don't want to leave holes, have trouble leaving them. This is possibly why everything I write is way too long or way too wordy or way too dense, or often all three. What I did here is kinda different for me in that sense, because I purposely left out so much.
Bascially I love layers, which is probably why I'll never tire of Buffy.
Me too! lots of times I get drawn to a fandom just because of a ship or a character. Which was the case with Buffyverse, too, but I've stayed with it for so long because my obsessions can switch from character to character, ship to friendships and different relationships and back again. There's just so much to explore.
