I'm glad you felt this way about the end, too. So many people were saying it was happy fluff that I was wondering if I was the only one.
I really disliked Dumbledore's implication that Snape should've been in Gryffindor. Snape just proves that someone who is cunning and ambitious can also be brave. He can also be loving and loyal, which are Hufflepuff qualities. Snape is proof that judging someone on something like what House they're in, or the few interactions you have with him, isn't knowing someone at all.
I expected him to die, but that, "Look . . . at . . . me . . ." still makes me want to curl into a ball.
