Insomnia Post!

Okay, lemme just say: I've been not posting for a bit and not commenting very much, and kind of hanging back where fandom is concerned, not for any specific reason, just 'cause I do that sometimes. And I've been trying to work through RL crap and it's not very pleasant. So then I go and do this post asking for help about grad school and for some reason because I'm stupid I doubt anyone on my flist can help me, and then I figure I've been a ghost so long people won't even remember who I am anyway. And then . . . you all respond and you give me all these names for people to ask and you give me good advice and you talk to me on AIM and you talk to your English prof parents and you do big long comments with so much I didn't know, and my heart grew three sizes. Again, just like it did with that article about the pink shirts.

Thanks, guys. Thanks so much. I should've known I can count on you. Oh, and just for being so awesome, I am now going to keep you updated on my grad school applying process. I know you all were just dying to hear about it. Maybe that will help me stay on track, anyway.

Oh, and the only thing second best to remembering why you love your flist and fandom and the wonderful world of online community with the passion of a thousand fiery suns? Is when someone asks to translate something you've written, and then does. It puffs me with pride, even if all the characters look like question marks on my computer (how do I change that?)

And now we come to the insomnia part of our program!



-Sit down and write a long letter to all the good friends I have known. I have sealing wax, guys. I have some of your addresses and you need long, rambling, wax sealed letters by me. I also need to write my grandmothers. And Fred.
-Get hair trimmed.
-Organize my cds. I got a cd folder thing from my friend for my birthday. I have so many cds. I have Carmina Burana covered by a dude from the Doors, you guys. crazydiamondsue was impressed. Back when she was around. And impressed. By me. *preens*
-Send in my fire_fic donations. I'm getting a2zmom and chrisleeoctaves to write fic for me! Angel/Connor and Buffy/Angel pegging, because of the faction of us that believe B/A pegging should be a genre of its own. OMG yay!
-Make a scrapbook for my grandmother. Before she kicks the bucket. And Fred.
-Do a post where if five people comment, they get something hand made by me! In the mail. I commented on a post like that in my_daroga's journal, and was supposed to follow through with the meme and post in my own, and haven't done it yet. I could do it right now. See me not doing it.
-Draw more comics. Well, someone's gotta pick up where Bill Amend left off; he's too busy playing World of Warcraft.
-Play World of Warcraft.
-Finish this Harry/Draco fic for anelith. It is kind of . . . pre-slashy because there's not a lot of romance, but omg, it makes me so happy. YAY.
-Take pics of my hair to show everyone how gorgeous and amazing it is. It gets gorgeouser and amazinger every day. Well, it's stringy on the bottom a bit because I need a trim (NB: Get hair trimmed), but there are these big loopy curls and I don't know where they come from because it didn't used to do that! And then I want to do a post about the body parts of ourselves that we love. a2zmom did that once, I think it was her, and anyway it was the awesomest ever. Women don't talk enough about how fucking pretty they are and if they do some people seem to think it's some kind of crime. Come on.
-Ooh, there could be like a meme where everyone takes pics of their favorite body parts and posts them! That would be so cool! And I could take a pic of my big toe and show you all how it looks like Sylvester Stallone. Oh, and I want to do that meme fodian did once where she said, ask me what you want a picture of and I will post it. Obviously, I got a digital camera for my birthday and it is SWEET. Well actually it's sort of metallic tasting. *stops chewing*
-More chapters of Man's Best Friend. They are all in my head and it makes me sad they are not hopping out. Get out get out! The next one is for germaine_pet. Get out! Spike is talking about how much he loves Where The Red Fern Grows, what is wrong with that vampire?
-Grow that sunflower seraphcelene sent.
-Move to Seattle, in with my_daroga.
-Get to sleep! DO NOT FORGET THIS ONE.
-Figure out what to do with the Sultana.
-Write more Phantom of the Opera fic. Revitalize POTO fandom and give it a new look, with highlights and heels.
-Construct a table of my seven favorite characters in Buffyverse and all the possible pairings between them. Then write straight out uninhibited (short!) porn for each pairing, and do not be embarrassed to post. Hmm. This would be: Angel/Buffy, Angel/Faith, Angel/Wesley, Angel/Connor, Angel/Spike, Angel/Lindsey, Buffy/Faith, Buffy/Wesley, Buffy/Connor, Buffy/Spike, Buffy/Lindsey, Faith/Wesley, Faith/Connor, Faith/Spike, Faith/Lindsey, Wesley/Connor, Wesley/Spike, Wesley/Lindsey, Connor/Spike, Connor/Lindsey, Spike/Lindsey. Whew. That would be awesome.
-Do laundry. Gotta remember that.
-Post about process of sending out stories to literary magazines for publications.
-Er, send out stories to literary magazines for publications.
-Post about the books I got at the bookstore, then about words, then about YA fiction, then about magical realism, then about surrealist painting, then about that cool artist's journal frimfram linked once (oh yeah and friend that person), and then about how much I hate most romance novels, and then about graphic novels, and then that will end the literary portion of the posting period.
-Post about all the stuff I've ever wanted to post about, ever.
-See Tibet.
-Call friends and ask why they are not at my house playing poker and eating pizza.
-When they say because it's 6:04 am, damn you Joy, remember I need sleep.
-Read all the books I've been meaning to. Feel out interest for group readings/book clubs on flist. They are so helpful and lovable, and also smart and well read, there have to be at least a few interested in doing it who will also have time. Or not.
-Post about this amazing bra I have that I'm looking at in my laundry basket (NB: do laundry!). I mentioned it in southernbangel's lj once, and then I believe it was midnightsjane who asked about it, and I never replied and I feel bad about that, especially since it's such a wonderful bra.
-Remember what I was going to put on the list next.
-Get to sleep.
-Oh yeah! Get employment.
-Become a functioning member of society.
-Beat everyone else at weboggle, for once.
-Do Draco/Harry fic for hd_holidays. I still can't believe I signed up for that. It was a moment of madness, I tell you! A moment of madness! I'm going to do it though and it's going to be awesome. Just you wait, you five H/D readers, you.
-Beta a2zmom's delicious fic. Beta moscow_watcher's fic. I like to beta, people.
-Eat lobster.
-OMG email my friend about what we're doing for her birthday! Shit. What the hell am I supposed to get her, anyway?
-Go to Fogo de Chao.
-Eat.
-Shave legs. Or possibly just shave knees so I can wear those jeans with holes in them. What?
-Read femmenerd's RG RPF and Hermione fic, and seraphcelene's sister slash. YAYAYAYAYAY.
-Understand what is going on with US politics.
-Tell someone about that dream I had where my best friend from middle school was running for president, along with 11 other independents all of whom I happened to know personally, one of whom was a hall monitor at my old highschool and another of whom I had dirt on, like really bad dirt and she knew I had it so I didn't understand why she was running, but I told her she looked pretty in her dress and BFfrom middle school was like, "What, don't I look good?" And it was awkward because it turned out I had always been in love with her, and I thought she would look beautiful in anything, anything, and couldn't she see that I felt that way, but her dress wasn't really to her advantage especially for a presidential candidate and I tried to tell her that and she got all offended and I was like, God, don't you know how beautiful you are to me? I just want to make love to you for hours, but I didn't say it because unrequited love is a bitch, isn't it.
-Write a pot boiler romance novel in which there is unrequited love that gets requited in the end.
-Meet people from my flist. That would be so awesome!
-Go to next writercon.
-Start a Fanfic University where people post essays about writing and there are workshops and symposiums and it's all metatastic and it is an environment of learning and sharing and seminars, always seminars, and panels, and a picture of seraphcelene on the wall.
-I should really finish that Ever After fic I wrote once.
-I should really finish all my WIPs!
-I should totally post the next chapter of Best Souvenir.
-I should sleep.

Your congel fic might be a little while in coming, since I have to finish a fic that's due for end of Oct and I have to find an idea for IWRY. I need to stop writing the Congel porn portion and write the plot. Woe is me.

I know the feeling about fic snippets! Stultiloquentia was telling me I should just write all the juicy bits I want, then link them together with summaries of what the story should be. i think that's a cool idea. People would still enjoy reading it, you would enjoy writing it, you got out an idea you probably wouldn't've ever written otherwise, and there was minimum angst involved. I want to try to do that!

The bra is not a perfect bra (searching for a soul mate, omg, it's so true). It rides up from the bottom, because it's seamless. But it supports well. The best thing about it, however, is how your boobs look when they're in it. I mean lots of bras have adequate support and look good with a shirt over them, but without my shirt my boobs look sad sitting in these cups, and it is so obvious my boobs are not the shape the bra says they are or should be. But with *this* bra, somehow it makes it so your boobs look like they really do fill out the cups. I just love it. Another downside though is that is was 50 freakin' bucks.

It's Victoria Secret, "Very Sexy" push up. I got it over a year ago so I don't know if they still have them? I know nothing about bra lines. But I will do a post and post a picture (an ad picture! Not me, thank god!) so it's clear exactly which one I'm talking about.

If you had no favorite body part, you would have to pick, and it would be a fun exploration process of your body! Which people should do more often. If you didn't want to post a pic of your naked butt you could post a pic of your clothed butt! Or your second favorite body part.

Bra: see above response to midnightsjane. But I will also do a post about it. It is not the *perfect* bra, but I do love it.

Oh, thanks! I'll check out the Victoria Secret site. $50 sounds like a bargain..I paid $135 for the bra I wear most often now, and it's just okay. Man, I miss the days when I was skinny skinny, and had no boobs to speak of. Trainer undershirts were all I needed.
