H-h-happy New Year! Even though I've not been around much I've been thinking of you all, and hoping you're having a marvelous time, whatever you're up to. This will be one of my last LJ posts, just so you know.

This is one of my last posts to LJ. I say "one of" because there are housekeeping issues. (And one issue where I'm just vain.)

-SETTING UP A FEED TO MY IJ, ~~and why I suck at technology.~~ Kids, this seems to be the relevant link for setting up a feed to me, but I'm confused by the part where only a permanent account can create a feed. Does that mean once the feed is created, anyone else can access it? So I should ask someone with a permanent account to create a feed to me that other people can use? Am I understanding this right? Meanwhile, I am going to shell out for a permanent IJ account, which means once I do that (HOUSEKEEPING!) I'll be adding all of you who don't have or aren't using IJs. Any help with answers to my questions on this would be appreciated.

-Today I transferred ALL my LJ posts onto my IJ, using the nifty LJ-Sac. Meanwhile, I wanna know if anyone's figured out how to transfer comments and/or tags. Anyone?

-I've said several times I was going to delete this LJ. I planned on that because LJ wasn't offering what I wanted and so I had no use for their services any more. I didn't realize until about a month ago that deleting this journal meant I wouldn't be able to access any flocked posts, or comment in journals that don't allow anon commenting. Once I'd realized this I realized deleting this would be like shooting myself in the foot, so I'm keeping this around a while longer. I will not be updating (after this or another post or two to satisfy the housekeeping and vanity issues). I will only be keeping this journal in order to view the journals of those with locked posts dear to my heart. Meanwhile, germaine_pet, fodian, and seraphcelene will be having parties over on IJ WITHOUT YOU.

-I will be making at least one other post here to satisfy my VANITY, in which I must announce which fic I wrote for hd_holidays. I figure it doesn't violate the whole "I'm leaving!" deadline I set myself because it was written and posted in 2007. Anyway, I want to know what the few of you who read Harry/Draco thought of it. If you guess which one I wrote before they announce it I will give you PRIZES.

In some ways 2007 was the worst year of my life. Before you offer me tissues or tell me to suck it up: I've lived the most charmed, happy life anyone could ask for, so much so that saying this year was the worst isn't saying much. I just was unhappy and had a lot of personal shit happen.

I know it sounds cheesy, but one big thing that always made me feel better and helped me pull through was all of you. I got to meet several of you this year and those were some high times in my life. And some others of you whom I haven't met, I cherished conversing with over email from time to time. Sometimes I'm a bad contact (

crazydiamondsue and

imnotacommittee I owe emails in particular), but as I said at the top of this rapidly devolving into mush post: you mean a lot to me. On that note,

Unfortunatley, there no one has come up with a way to transfer tags and comments. Alas, it's a painful post by post process to re-tag everything. Comments are a complete no go. I understand less than you do on the whole feed thing. I tried, really I did, but I couldn't make heads or tails.

Hi hi hi I miss you! I was looking through my pics the other day and realized I really only have ONE good picture of you. I took it at the Aquarium. The others were of you getting ready to go out but they were mostly of your backside. And while you have a nice backside, I'm sure, I wish I had a couple more of your pretty face.

I retag a lot post by post, so while it's a pain that's not so big a deal, but damn, losing all those comments is such a pity.

I know! I miss you too! I was so tickled pink over your package, but then I felt like I didn't even have time to email you. But now that I have a job and have decided what to try for next year, I'm feeling a lot more settled in and should be able to better keep up.

Don't be sad! You should be able to get my posts through a feed, even though you can't access ij at work. The feed is here, germaine_pet made it for me! And I'll still be checking my flist on lj and commenting, so things shouldn't be too different. I assume the same is true for most of us who are moving...only one or two, out of everyone I've seen move, are deleting journals and/or not commenting on anything LJ.

No. It is selling tickets and informing people at the info desk at the Pacific Science Center. That is, still not salaried. Which to me mean ungrownup. HA. I want to do Teach for America instead of grad school next year. And then Peace Corps once I'm finished with that. And then the world. No, I dunno. But I'm very happy now that I don't feel so roped into the grad school thing. I don't want to be a professional early in life; I want to do as many different things as I can in as many different places before I have to work a 9-5, get a house, a husband, and a dog. That is to say: I'm very happy with the way my life is looking these days!

Not sure--deciding how to handle tkp_fic was another housekeeping thing. I'd feel pretty bad if people had to do something special just to keep up with Another One Like It Tomorrow, so I will probably still finish posting that fic there. But directly after the fic is done, I'll probably delete the comm and stick the fic somewhere in my IJ, and also on a personal website I plan to get seraphcelene to help me make. After that I'll just consolidate the stuff that was going to be on tkpfic--the long fics and the old fics--onto a website and my IJ. Thanks for asking!

Still have to get used to using IJ, but hopefully I'll be around there a lot in the future. See ya!

You can add me on feed, I think, even if you don't have an ij. But I believe you mostly added me for Man's Best Friend? Lots of people did, so I'll be sure to send updates of that to the Herald so you can keep up if you'd like.

Oh, yeah. But, I recall seeing your comments on some o' my stuff. But I'm wildly inconsistent in who or what I write fic about.

I'm still checking my lj flist, so I'll be keeping up with you. If it meant missing stuff like the S Curve, this move would be SO not on. :o)

Oy! I am so disillusioned by the journalling systems that I will NEVER get a permanent account. I freak out cause what if I change my mind? What if TPTB turn into complete asshats and then I never get a refund? But it's okay. I'm not that committed to anything right now, anyway. I am way to exhausted from the holidays. Ex-Haust-ED!! Dude. And mostly absent, too, except for ficcish fly-bys and random commenting.

I hope your holidays were made of win. And you know, Susie will NEVER get around to sending those picutes out. She never does. It's like pulling teeth or a sign of the Apocalypse when they show up in your inbox like three years later. My poor, forgetful, cupcake. :)
