It's Lion Turtles all the way down ([personal profile] lettered) wrote2010-02-06 10:39 pm

Oops

Hello everyone! I was trying to post to a comm when I delighted you all with The 5th Element and inscrutable numbers. I'd tried several times, and the last time, did not check to see if I was still posting to the comm or myself. So, apologies.

In much the same news, I'm writing a novel. I'm trying to write a little bit every day, and posting helps me keep track. But just word count posts are boring, so I post various things that come to mind when I'm working on the story. Here are some images, and here's what to do with them:

1) Pick one! Then write a drabble.
2) Name that context.
3) Pick all of them! And try to figure out what the hell I'm writing about.
4) Tell me about your own writing adventures; I miss you and would like to hear about them.

You had me worried there for a bit...once I thought through possible meanings for those images, I was afraid something was very wrong, although it would've been a peculiar way to say so. *wipes sweat from forehead*

Hmmm... it's set in outer space. There's a planet that the inhabitants have destroyed (or are close to destroying) through environmental degradation. There's a slashy male couple who have set off to find a new world, and end up exploring the galaxy together. Somewhere in the Crab nebula? I'm not sure I recognize that photo.

Yay you for writing a novel!

I can tell you that I looked at the AU Star Trek and Dora images longest. I wonder what that says about me? I miss you! I am reading all the pairings/genres/fics I never read in the Buffyverse. It is my goal to be the person who has read everything awesome the Buffyverse ever offered, since nothing squicks me (okay, maybe naked Andrew, but I can hold my breath and think of England while I read it.)

I made Jonah a batch of your Everything Cookies the other day. He looked up at me with eyes that understood the secrets of the universe. All "Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup," you know? Of course, I'm a granola/whole grain/soy milk/local grown/dried-apricot-snack kind of mom, so the kid explodes with joy (JOY!) at anything that isn't baked tilapia and broccoli, kwim?

Yay, novel!

Dora, Kirk and Spock have a threesome?

A novel is most delightful. Keep us posted.

I have just posted a short Angel fic which is the angstiest angst the world ever angsted. I have even out-angsted Joss, I think.

Is that last picture from Sam, Bangs, and Moonshine? It looks familiar. If so, wow! I've never known of anyone else who knew that book.

I miss you bunches! But, then again, I am hardly ever on LJ anymore...

A novel? That sounds fascinating! Will you be sharing online or is more of a personal (professional?) venture? I'm assuming when you posted Gary Oldman as Gordon, there's a Gordon-like character in it?

I'm still firmly in Jim/Bruce land. My enthusiasm for this pairing hasn't waned and with talks of Batman 3 in development for reals, I'm more excited than ever.

So I did NaNoWriMo and I'm in the processing of editing/posting the remaining 5 chapters or so over at [livejournal.com profile] nowweretwo. Also writing some crackfic which people seem to enjoy. It's kinky as hell (to me), but I think that's the person I write for the most, anyway. :)
