Smut
-You’re reading an epicky fic with an interesting plot. Does a really long sex scene right in the middle bore you? At what point, really, does gratuitous smut become gratuitous?

If it's not well written. If sex doesn't turn me on *or* serve to further the plot.

-Has Angel ever been the sub partner in a D/s relationship (in fic, I mean)?

Yes. Often for Darla, sometimes for Buffy, occasionally for Wes. There's S/A fic where he subs, but I personally find it OOC and don't tend to read, let alone archive that. Check around StA if you're interested in fic where he subs. I also tend to draw a line between bottoming and subbing- Angel would bottom easily, he's a masochist and he thinks he deserves punishment. So he'd let his lover hurt him. I just can't see him calling anyone "Sir" while they did it. Except for Buffy, who I think he would crawl naked over bottlecaps for, and call anything she damn well asked him.

-Wouldn’t it be kinda difficult for a human male to maintain an erection while being bitten and sucked on by a vampire? I gave blood (in hopes of helping hurricane refugees in my town, yay) today, and felt cold and limp like a noodle afterwards. Arousal? Difficult to conceive of. Then again, not a human male. What gives? Or doesn't give?

Pain isn't conducive to hard ons in most human males, with the obvious exception of S&M play. I'm sure with conditioning, a human could learn to get off on being bitten. And certainly, Buffy got off on it when Angel bit her in S3. I think this is one of those fanon-canon blurry boundary things, which good writers can carry off, and bad writers tend to over do.

You ask the coolest questions. :}
