Personally, I've always had a soft spot for Sean Connery and Jack Nicholson, just to name a few. And men like DD just get more sexy in my view as they get older.

I think Alan Rickman is my oldest heartthrob ;o)

When I said "creepy, cringy" re: Holtz, it's definitely to do with his personality and general demeanour.

Yes, but I found that sexy, too. I didn't find his character at all attractive--I don't have a thing for villains like some people seem to. But the actor's intense, creepy way of playing that character? Hubba hubba ;o)

In that case, the first few sex scenes were right on the money, and definitely added to the story and worked with the characters, but then after that, it just got kind of pointless, and I began wondering why the additional smut was in there.

That's probably where I'd just stop reading, even if the plot still interested me. I skim and don't finish a lot of fic.

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear any recs you have for epics. I'm well due an epic from the BtVS/Angel fandom.

Well, I'm relatively new to this fandom; I'm guessing I haven't read anything you haven't read already. Off the top of my head, I really liked Phoenix Burning by Yahtzee (who doesn't?) and Domestication by Indie. [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom recently posted recs for long, plotty B/A fic here. I haven't gotten to any I haven't read already on the list, but I had read Swan Song before, which is excellent, and I think you can trust a2zmom for good recs ;o)
