Yeah, I didn't even get to the French Mistake, where in lord_kripke, bobby_sing_it, parks_the_car and gamble_it_away are suddenly characters in the fic that is the world.

Or something.

I think there's an extent to which fandom baffles and fascinates writers, particularly. They end up asking

about us. (Unfortunately, the least reasonable bits of fandom ::cough::Becky::cough:: are often the most visible)

Except for the part about loving what they've made: that they completely understand. We just think way too much about it.

I will say that the SPN people seem to "get it" more than many. But, then, I "grew up" in West Wing fandom, so my bar is lower than if it had been set by the Mutant Enemy crowd, for example.

I think so too. There are many things I love, but this is what I love most about the show deep down. And you're right, they don't absolutely understand, but I feel like . . . I dunno, like they think it's kind of hilarious. And I think they're kind of hilarious. So it works.
