And now I am officially published.

So, my book was released September 11. It is available for purchase on Amazon and in various book stores. The book makes little sense unless you have seen The Wire or are a fan of Victorian literature (preferably both).

I'm not going to link it here, as I wouldn't really want the book to get mixed up with my fannish life. This is a little weird, as the book is an essentially fannish work. I've seen people I recognize from fandom linking both the original article and the book itself. I sort of wish I could reach out to those people, because when I see them pop up I want to say, "Hey! I'm one of you!" but I don't know, especially considering some of the stuff I've written recently, it seems sticky.

Wow, that's you?!? My friend Karen was raving about it and gave it a 5 star review on goodreads.....

Awww! I saw her review! It filled my heart with glee! I can't believe you know her--tell her she totally made my day. See what I mean about the fandom/real world cross over? It's cool, but kind of intimidating. I'm sort of like . . . "yeah, this is great, but where do I stash my porn?!?!?"

I know. Thank god Karen knows I read fanfic, so I was able to squee to her about this as soon as I saw your post!

Karen says, "tell her to take my suggestion and write the whole damn book please!"

Our agent and publisher wanted us to write that book. We felt that that was taking the joke too far, and that we would also be more likely to run into copyright issues. However, I'm really glad she liked it.

Oh, I KNEW it was someone I know who had written that! I haven't bought it yet, but it's going to be my flatmate's Christmas present, because she loves The Wire and watches it once a year.
