Also for at least 3 seasons Buffy dressed REALLY badly in clothes that made her frequently look short and wide. I recently visited season 2 and was shocked and appalled.

Anyway Buffy can't be a drug addict - she's a dealer. It's the only logical explanation for how a uni student owns that many pairs of leather pants :)
