Y. Effusive, embarrassing, and possibly kinda scary amounts of gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] romanyg for paid time. You're awesome with the love and make lj a cooler place to be, and not just for the random fairy gifts on the doorstep!

A. And: I'm back! For good this time I think. I helped my brother move to Gainsville, Florida--I'd never been to FL. Or Mississppi or Alabama. It's humid in Houston, but Florida is SWIMMING in it. Seriously, if you can't hold your breath for long times underwater, don't go to Florida. I nearly Wicked Witched of the West'ed.

Y. Ask a question, any question about me, about fandom, about fic, about lj, about you, about oompas or hatracks or zits or finely carved small foxes, and I'll answer to the best of my ability. Unless I don't feel like it; then you're screwed. But no, really, I want to play! *blows breath on window and draws heart with fingers*

! ZOMG thank you again [livejournal.com profile] romanyg!

d) you, me, or any combination there in

a) I've never seen driftwood turned back into trees. In fact, the only driftwood sculpture I know is Al Rollings, a guy who sells his art in the part of Michigan where I stay. And dude, I think he's awesome. Mostly he makes wood into birds and fish, and I really like that element because birds and fish are a part of wood--but not in that way. I think I like the birds the most though because they tie the birds to the fish.

b) Kita has an icon that has JM saying, "Suck my RPS'ing cock", and she used it once in answer to the question, "what are your thoughts on RPS?" I pretty much am in line with that answer. I don't think it's right to send those kind of stories to the people they're written about, but other than that the personalities they present to the world seem like fair game. Those personalities aren't they're real personalities, and I prefer RPS that's more fantastic than an attempt to be realistic. For instance, RPS set in the past or where one character is a hooker or something to me is just fun hot crack. It's not meant to be anything world shattering that makes you realize new things about the "people"--because they're characters, not people.

c) Negative percentile? Stuff that's not in Florida thinks about Florida and gets wet. Kinda like me and DB.

d) I like your icon. Also, there's something you said about me on [livejournal.com profile] southernbangel's love meme a bit ago about how I don't take stuff seriously unless it needs to be taken seriously, and I wanted to say I like that about you too, and I like how that colors our interactions on lj. I can talk to you about eating pony cookies but then you'll produce stuff like that Connor fic and my brain just goes to town on it. So often both in RL and online, there's a group you talk to about "serious" thinky stuff and a group you have fun with, and it bugs me. I like how I feel like you can take either and not be all, huh?

e) I want my brother to put his cat on it, but I don't think I could convince him to put stuff on the cat. He'd be worried about hurting him, when really you can cover that cat in cockroaches and he'd just say, "yum!"

e) Stuff on my cats makes me laugh, because you know as soon as the flash hits, the cats scram and things are flying. He could cover the kitteh with packing peanuts?

d) srsly, I like that I can be silly and thinky with some people. Some on my flist are all of one only, but the ones I like best are the ones that are SMART and HILARIOUS. (Or at least enjoy the funny.) ♥

a) See, the trick is to make the driftwood LOOK like driftwood. There's the artistry. The art comes from picking it up and just selling it. Maybe you could glue a squirrel or an owl to it and sell it at a roadside stand. (And ooh, neat link!!)
