I went through and tagged all of my SPN bookmarks yesterday for fun, though, so right now that is the only thing on it and it is . . . not an accurate representation of my interests.

I saw a family at the store at 11-11:30 PM, mom & 3 kids. The kids had *filled* the cart to overflowing with junk food. The mom was reading magazines and paying no attention to any of the kids (who were almost running people over with the cart.) When they were in the checkout lane, the littlest began grabbing as much candy as he could from the candy display in the lane. The mom kept reading magazines.

I read the one on the Butlerian jihad, and the one on how Baron Harkonnen engendered Jessica, and how he got to be so enormously fat. In general, I was disappointed - the books seemed too *earnest,* without that dry, ironic detachment Herbert did so well. So I haven't read anymore.

OMG, even now I ask the Wes question every now and then. My son and I used to watch Ats every week, A few weeks after the finale, he asked me why I was mourning Wesley. That's when I realised I was! I just couldn't accept it. Still can't. I could never watch s5 again.
I used to work part time in a supermarket. One time a grumpy old woman hit me over the head with a metre long bread stick- a few times.

I was mildly disappointed with the finale - I just kind of expected it to be *bigger*, but I guess they went for the best possible solution... Possibly. I didn't think so at first, but people have argued with me, so now I guess it was the best solution. What do you mean, you missed them all? All the heroes? All the prior episodes? All...?

I always thought the last couple of eps of AtS were too hasty and just a way to end the series. I can see not counting them. That works. Mostly because Wesley DIES.
The Di story is eerie, though.
I sometimes have trouble with my OTPs having hate!sex. Because I don't want them to hate each other. But sometimes hate!sex is...sexy. Therein lies a quandary.

My parents went to Russia recently and they said that the trains really are kinda nasty. So you've actually been to Irkutsk? That is awesome. I always get confused about where it is.
OTP: I have edited the question, but what I mean is sometimes I just *can't* watch B/A have hate!sex. Even though like A/S hate!sex can be quite entertaining.
HP: I think it would be stupid if Harry died. But the only person I'm *terrified* about dying is Neville. Which is funny, because I love Neville and everything, but he's not a character over which I am fannish or obsessed. But if he died a part of me would die. A PART OF ME. And yes, gypped is a derogatory play on "gypsy", or at least I did some research that said it was (don't remember where). I try not to use it since then, but I forget. For the Wes thing, I was talking about how wanted...okay, so Wes wanted a lot of things. One of those was, basically, to be Angel. He loved Angel so much, in this idol/hero-worship kind of way. If you look at Guise Will be Guise, it has a lot of resonance later on in the series because Wes basically turns into Angel -- he becomes this dark, brooding, efficiently violent character. But the thing about Wesley is that it's never going to be about him -- the prophecies, the mission, the job -- and he knows that; he knows that no matter how much he wants to be Angel, he's never going to be that guy. The closest thing he's going to get to is to die for that guy -- and Wes has always wanted to make that great sacrifice for Angel, I think. To shed blood for Angel as part of a sign of his dedication, and later on, his penance. So, be careful what you wish for, because if you wish for death, you get it.

Probably dramatic: I was in a long line at the quickie checkout, the cash register stopped working, the clerk had us move to the next register, and when we moved over, I invited the guy who had been behind me go in front of me. No big deal, right? But the woman who had been BEHIND that guy, once we got in the next line, was therefore behind me, and because I hadn't been in front of her previously, she assumed I had cut in front of *her*. She was yelling at me behind my back, but being deaf, I had no idea. Just at the point I started to wonder why people in front of me were turning around and looking at me/behind me strangely, all of a sudden she grabbed my 2 items and threw them to the end of the line, and put her items in front. This was my first clue, and in a second I figured out what had been going on. I was absolutely stunned, and ... I just left the store. I had been in a rush to get home, my sister was waiting in the car, I had no idea how to fix the situation because the woman was obviously in psychotic bitch mode and in no state to listen to reason. I must admit, it shook me the hell up to have someone behave that way, and I didn't know what to do. But I was also pissed because 1) I was in the right and ended up probably looking in the wrong and 2) the dumbass I let in front of me was (to appearances) a druggie/drunk and didn't have the courtesy or brain cells to inform the woman that I'd let *him* in front, and hadn't cut in front of anyone! (My sister was really angry that she hadn't been in the store with me at the time to tell this woman off.)

3. Not really. I just love the way Samuel L Jackson delivers that line. Mostly, I didn't feel like I needed them to kill Wesley off, but since it appeared they did, I'm really resistant to the idea of getting out of it now. Character Death is serious and you shouldn't cheat out of it lightly even in a universe with magic.

I just started House of Harkonnen and I was wondering about that same thing. They have Herbert's old notes for constructing plot, but I'm just not sure they can recreate the dryness of that style. Oh well, maybe I'll like the story enough to get through it anyway.

Strangely, I cannot think of any A/S smut off the top of my head.
Crepe myrtle is so wonderful because, at least where I live, it's one of the most common tress, and it's so colorful, both through spring and summer. Lots of flowers and things can't stand summer heat, so they die, but crepe myrtles don't care.
I wasn't impressed with Heroes at first, but halfway through the season it started getting really cool.
Don't think Wes will be back from the dead, but maybe he'll make an appearance somehow.

Sometimes I do, but sometimes I just can't stand it. And sometimes I like that absent third aspect, and sometimes I'm all like, "Get out of my pairing!!!" I've noticed that lately I've become really protective of my Harry/Draco obsession, and I'm afraid to read any "serious" fic about them because I just want them to end up snuggly and happy. But I tend to not prefer straight out fluff, so I keep looking for formulaic h/c and that kind of thing so there will be lots of angst but everything will END WELL, and it is kind of frightening me.
OMG, I signed up to reserve a copy of the book, I'm going to a MIDNIGHT PARTY, and I will read and read all weekend, I will kill people if they spoil me!
Yay I know isn't it awesome though??? I was like that for both books 5 and 6, and I never got spoiled, so I wouldn't worry too hard (I would be careful of the internets, though). But I do know a *lot* of people right now who are terrified someone will ruin the book for them! My friend had a YouTube vid of someone driving by B&N at 12.45 am the night book six was released, shouting the major spoiler for the end of that book! Jeez!

re: writing HP fiction, I want to wait until I've read the 7th book, because I am terribly lazy and don't want to put in the effort, only to have something blow me out of the water in the 7th book. (Am thinking of the Hermione/Harry 'shippers here - that had to suck!) Especially because there's a rumor that Book 7 is going to have more-than-normal Petunia time.
In general I think writing an HP story would be fun, but scary, because I have nightmare visions of being "brit-picked" to death.

Why, on the Harry Potter thing? Because I don't read the books, and have only seen the movies when dragged to them by friends. Everybody who loves HP thinks I am a child of Hell for not giving it a chance, but that is just one craze I haven't cared to be a part of yet. You don't get addicted if you don't experiment with the drug!
Oooohk, gotcha now on the Heroes thing. Sometimes language confuses me. But, yeah, that resolution to the explosion left me going "Ummmm..." at the time. And I was like, "Peter can fly anyway. Why does Nathan have to do that and die?" and people were like, "Well, duh, Peter was so panicked and going nuts he didn't have enough control to work that flying power thing by himself." And I was like, "Ohhhh... okay. I guess. Well, why didn't they just go with the Claire shooting him plan? Won't he heal anyway, once they get the bullet out? And even if it doesn't, isn't it better for him to just die instead of possibly both him and Nathan?" And I forget what people said, but I think I was satisfied, but now that I'm thinking of it again and can't remember what people said, I'm not so satisfied anymore. Damnit. I also wanted Hiro to be more involved in the big showdown. So... yeah. I was sorta only kinda okay with the finale, but I loved the show so much up till then, I'm willing to forgive.

The funny thing is, I'm not really "new" to LJ. Before I joined LJ, I would just go to my favorite LJ bloggers' websites. Then I finally joined LJ about 2 or 3 years ago. And I just recently (in the past few weeks) started posting (regularly) on my LJ. It's just that there are a lot of terms that I don't know still- I only learned what UST was recently. I am also still very naive and innocent (ha!), so I don't know a lot of the smutty slang terms.
But thanks for being so willing to help! =) Oh, also thanks for friending me. I don't care if you read my blog or not (I never really expected anyone to), but having friends is nice. =)
