Happy Halloween!

Long time no talky! Look at all your bright and shiny faces! I was out of town for a week and a half, and before that and after I've just been out of it. For those of you I haven't told yet, I'm moving to Seattle, in with my_daroga. I'm doing that quite soon, and I have a bunch of RL shit to get together, and graduate applications to organize, and a trip to plan and pack for which I haven't even started doing yet. That is to say I probably STILL won't be around LJ much, but not to worry. I shall return with a vengeance, once things get all settled--probably in February or so. I'm not forsaking fandom and everything forever until then; I'm just letting you know.

Okay, that's RL. Now here's stuff to do and stuff I want to do re: My Sekrit Online Life, in case you're wondering.
H) I'm still leaving LJ by the end of this year. I will take up residence at IJ and set up a feed for all you on LJ, and I will still check your journals here. I just won't have any journals here.
A) I'm still updating Another One Like It Tomorrow, and hope to have the posting finished by the end of this year. Sorry for the long delay on that guys, but I have most of it written and just need to keep on posting.
L) Some of you have asked about Best Souvenir. I do plan to finish that fic, and I thought I'd get to more of it this Sept or October. But that obviously didn't happen, and due to everything that's going on for me right now, more probably won't be posted until sometime next year.
L)ii. I owe germaine_pet and anelith things for fire_fic--I haven't forgotten, and I've been working on both. I'm just a little stuck and a little harried right now, so please forgive the delay. (eta: Lynne's is another chapter of "Man's Best Friend", another fic which I guarantee will be continued. I know what happens; there's just a bit too much stress going on right now for me to make it happen...like I want to!)
O) I'm still working on my meta for seraphcelene's metathon. I should've just done a DVD commentary, but I wanted to say something I've been wanting to say about my writing for a while, but never knew how to say. But it's just not working out well and I keep changing what I'm writing about every time I think about it. But it's just delayed, not permanently rescinded (is that the word I want?) I'll get it done.
W) Speaking of stuff that's due, I owe moscow_watcher a beta, and a2zmom three of them. They're coming!
E) I have an IWRY Marathon piece due at the end of November. I haven't started it yet but I know what it's about and I'm very happy with that.
E)ii. Did I mention I signed up for hd_holidays? Yes, I'm very stupid. This piece is KILLING me. Speaking of which, anyone up for a very super speed beta the day to two before I have to turn it in?
N) Oh, speaking of fire_fic, which we no longer are, I owe donations.
!) I have pics that need posting. K! I have a very cool picture of you. The rest turned out to mostly be of the back of your head. How did that happen? I was just trying to be candid. At least your hair looks all cool.

The move sounds exciting! Seattle's quite a change from Houston. I've never been there, but I have only ever heard good things. Good luck with all the crazy real life stuff.

See above: eaten by bandom, so this is that, but it really hit more of my emotional buttons than anything I've read in a long time. A Love Song By Any Other Name by formerlydf

I could do pictures, but they'd just end up being bandom related too, as would most fic ideas and any songs I have recently fallen in love with (The entire new Cobra Starship album! Hooray!). I fell hard for this fandom. It's a little alarming.


-five kisses Draco Malfoy never regretted

1. He was thirteen the first time Pansy kissed him. (And she did kiss him first, though later he'd claim her kissed her when he was blustering about it to Crabbe and Goyle and Blaise. Crabbe and Goyle would look sufficiently impressed, so he'd pretend not to notice Blaise's raised eyebrow). They were alone in a compartment on the Hogwart's train. She was eating chocolate frogs and he was planning Potter's demise. There was no prompt it, no reason, when she leaned over and kissed him, awkwardly and sweetly (both literally and figuratively, given that she tasted like chocolate). They would have so many other kisses later, and after awhile they would stop being sweet in any way. But he'll remember Pansy at thirteen.

2. He was sixteen the first time Blaise kissed him. (And Blaise *did* kiss him. He was an innocent bystander. Or that's what he'll say indignantly to Crabbe and Goyle the next day, unsure if he should even tell them, but they are Crabbe and Goyle. They can keep a secret, especially his). They'd snuck firewhiskey back to the common room and were curled up next to each other on the couch, alone because they'd scared everyone else off when they'd started exploding glassware (Draco could be an obnoxious drunk). Draco could be obnoxious when drunk, but Blaise just got touchy, handsy and forward and it was hardly the first time they'd almost but it was the first time they did and so Draco could blame the firewhiskey, pretend he'd never seen it coming. Pretend he cared that Pansy and Daphne were both asleep in the next room.

3. The first time he kissed Blaise was two weeks later and there was no firewhiskey involved.

4. It's later and Voldemort is dead and his family is alive and *he's* alive and he doesn't know how any of that happened, hasn't, for the last year, really expected to make it out of this. He's sitting on the Quidditch pitch in the dark, thinking. He's hoping no one's looking for him, but he's sure they are, expecting to hear his name called any second and dreading it. It takes him a moment to realize he's not alone and he braces himself, but then Potter says "hey" softly and it's all right then. Potter still twists something up in his gut, but it's such a faded echo of the old hatred. Potter sits down beside him and thankfully doesn't speak again. Draco has no thanks to say, doesn't want any more explanations than he already has; he already understands Potter more than he used to, more than he ever wanted to and that makes his gut twist again, in something that he won't call sympathy. When he gets up to leave, he leans over on impulse, presses a kiss to Potter's temple, and it freaks Potter out more than it does Draco. Potter lets out a startled breath and pulls away, watching him, eyes wide with surprise and hazed with exhaustion behind his glasses. Draco says nothing, shrugs and walks away.

5. Number five has to have something to do with the dementors kiss, but I don't know what. When it comes to me I will tell you.
