Questions Post #4
I have questions. You have answers.
Characters
Whatever happened to Gwen?
Whatever happened to David Nabbit?
Whatever happened to Justine?
Where does Angel's money come from?
How did Xander know where Angel lived in "Prophecy Girl"?
How old is Faith? (How much younger is she than Buffy?)
Am I the only one who liked Willow's white hair in "Chosen"?
Does Wesley have fish?
Am I the only one who liked Eve (as a character)?
Does Illyria pee? Does she have to take off that whole suit every time she does it? Is there a zipper?
Why don’t some people like Principal Wood?
How old was Connor supposed to be? Wasn't he old enough to shave? How did he shave in a hell dimension?
Icons
Why do people put text on icons that’s too small to read?
Why is it so popular to cut an image such that you can only see 1/2 or 1/4 of someone's face, and the rest is empty space?
Actors
What's up with James Marsters' accent for Spike?
Is Charisma Carpenter's name really Charisma?
What were early AtS season 5 DB's hairdressers thinking?
Other Shows
Did "Bones" ever get any better than the pilot?
Is it really worth having to sit through "Smallville" for JM?
I think I heard both CC and AA were guest appearing a lot on some show. What is it?
Don't both NB and AH have shows now? Does anyone watch them? Are they any good?
What is "Veronica Mars"? How come so many people on my flist watch it? What's good about it (the short version. Like, VM in 30 seconds)?
Is "Lost" as good as the first two seasons of "Alias" were?
How come Jack Bauer won't come fuck me?
That's all I got.
Happy unHalloween. It poured here. I was so sad for the munchkins. Except for the seven year old with the purple velvet hat who claimed to be dressed up as Pimp Daddy. Pimp Daddy had no need of my pity. I gave him lots of Reese's.

I think Faith was actually supposed to be a bit older than Buffy (not more than a couple of years) which was funny, since Eliza was the youngest cast member.
Eve bugged. I do think it's funny that Angel had lots of sex with her, though, since a) it's icky and therefore funny and b) it allowed Spike to say, "Good on you, mate!" As well as Lindsey thinking that Eve was the one thing he'd ever had that Angel hadn't.
Connor, as Kita said, was deliberately "aged" to 18. My question is...how did he speak such clear American slang in the space of one episode? That Sunny must have been a chatterer! You'd imagine that he and Holtz were the only humans in Quortoth, and Holtz was an 18th century dethawed fellow, so wouldn't Connor's speech been a little bit less of, "Man, this sucks!"? Of course, I cut them a break. I really wouldn't have wanted to see Connor put the moves on Cordy in iambic pentameter.
I don't get the too small text - and I have a couple of those icons. I, er, like the picture.
Bones got better. It's still a little rough around the edges, but David's fun in it.
Er, did you see my Smallville post? Is it worth it? James is good. Lex is cool. The show provided me with unintentional comedy. I'm happy.
Alyson Hannigan is on "How I Met Your Mother" and Nicholas Brendon is on "Kitchen Confidential."
"HIMYM" is a sitcom ala "Friends." It's on ABC (the current power network) and gets good ratings. It has Aly, plus one of the guys from "Freaks and Geeks" plus a hilarious Doogie Howser who's chewing scenery from here to Piccadilly. It's uneven, it's hilarious, it's pedestrian. Aly's character is great when she gets to be 20-something quirky, sort of wince-y when she just becomes a clone of Aly's "American Pie" character.
Nicky's show "Kitchen Confidential" is produced and directed by Darren Star, who did "Sex and the City." It also stars Bradley Cooper of "Alias," another dude from "Freaks and Geeks" and a sexy English guy who says "bloody" alot. It's Bradley Cooper's show, and it's smart and funny in a total non-laugh track sort of way. However, it's on FOX opposite Aly's show (this is not a problem for me, I DVR both) and following "Arrested Development" which is not doing well in the ratings and kind of tugging "KC" down with it. Plus, after three episodes, the show has been preempted by FOX's baseball schedule since mid-September. It returns November 14. I started a community for it
I've never watched an episode of "Veronica Mars," but Joss seems to like it. The first season of "Lost" was awesome. (I've never watched "Alias" - I had Jennifer Garner damage.) The second season of "Lost"? It appears to be a bit lost thus far. High hopes, though.
Oh, and David Boreanaz's hair was a built in joke that could be referenced any time the writers were getting punchy. It's the only reasonable explanation...
Sound questions all.

Word to DB's hair. I heard him talk about it at a con once, I think? Or maybe someone else talked about it. Apparently, he wanted to do his own hair, and they wouldn't let him, and it became a running gag.

I was hoping you had info on the Gwen thing. Was she an attempt at spin-off? Or just a hot chick with superpowers?
I don't think I've ever loved Angel more than the, "My hair!" moment in Pylea.

I dunno about Gwen. I think she was just one of many failed attempts to het Angel up. But unless it was a short blonde ala Buffy or Darla, or had a dick ala every male in the verse, DB just didn't have the chemistry with 'em. So they went the way of that Asian chick, and Kate, and Cordelia, and...

This is the reason I ask. They seemed to invest quite a lot into development of her as a character; I felt sure she was going to become a member of Angel's team. Then she just . . . fades away. And I thought they were supposed to . . . not.
I think Faith was actually supposed to be a bit older than Buffy
Huh. I assumed she was younger because she got called later. Also, she looked younger and acted younger, despite her worldly bravado.
I do think it's funny that Angel had lots of sex with her
I think the whole purpose of this was a plot device to set up cheap jokes later on. As much as I enjoyed S5, there seemed to be several instances of this--also of making cheap jokes of things that I didn't think should be cheapened.

I did read your post. I didn't know whether to barf or laugh. I've watched exactly one ep of SV. Since then, I've had hours of entertainment reenacting a particularly bad moment of atrocious acting by the fellow who plays Clark Kent. But the thought of enduring more makes me lean toward the barf and not the laugh side. THough I though Lex was great, too.
It also stars Bradley Cooper of "Alias,"
He played the character Will Tippin, right? He was fabulous.
Thanks for the run-down on these two shows. I'm too lazy to watch or research them myself, but have been wanting to know the skinny on them for some time. I've watched "Arrested Development" on DVD. I'm disappointed to learn it's doing badly; maybe I'll tune in once KC comes back and make a night of it.
Thanks for your answers ;o)
