Dude. I guess I was still in denial that people could deny they'd back scuttled. Done their back door work. Brown-eyed, brown-holed, daubed the brush, dipped in the fudge pot, done it the Greek way and in the Italian manner as the Hands of Blue have done so often. While I think the other posters are being very blind (though it happens often) and not even accepting that someone could interpret canon differently than them, I'm still pissed at Joss. Given when AtS was made and even on the silly WB, it does not give him cool points to post-series point out that yeah, Angel and Spike were shagging each other. *is bitter*

Oh. Well, the way I read it, he didn't say Angel and Spike were shagging, but I guess it could be read that way. He did go in and try to tell people how to interpret his canon after the fact in so far as the Hands of Blue guys went. Bad Joss! ;o)

A while back, someone was floating around a quote from his "A Hole in the World" commentary track where he did say that they were shagging. Which while it could've been tongue-in-cheek, just made me rather sad. I figured that his comment there was an extension of feelings from the commentary track.

Oh! I had read that. I haven't listened to the commentary. I do hate the way some people claim commentaries should be taken as 'canon', though. Canon should be the shows, and nothing more. (And nothing less!)

Oh, and this part makes me quibble with joy:

When I called James "the best ingenue Angel ever had" I merely meant that there was enormous acting chemistry between them. After throwing different actresses up against David (sometimes literally) it was gratifying to find someone who brought out passion in David's performance that I'd never seen. I mean, look at Caveman vs Astronauts, for god's sake! David is off the charts hilarious. I learned early on to film those two in one-ers instead of regular coverage because their energy just kept increasing.

Do you know what also amazes me? That some people are of the opinion that slash was created at the same time as the Jossverse. Heh.
Because I'm a silly person, what also amuses me is the misspellings. Spangel is so cannon = bang bang! :)

And yeah. People seem to think sometimes that slash is just a little abberation that can be swept under the carpet. That it's a Jossverse thing, or that people like it because it's "subversive" or . . . any number of interesting, albeit ridiculous, theories.

I don't understand the problem.

(Actually my problem with Spike's "we were intimate once" it that it has now convinced people they screwed exactly once. No, no, no. What Spike meant is that after they both had souls they did it once and that's the only time it was done with emotion, i.e. intimacy. The 24,632 they shagged without souls, they were just fucking.)

What I liked most were all those people saying they couldn't see Spike and Angel fucking because they hated each other. Hello! They were soulless vampires! What, they only fucked the people they had fuzzy feelings for?

Also, the people who say things like, "I can see them getting into an intimate situation, and starting to go down that road, and then pulling away and going oh noes!" Why would the pull away? What would possibly stop them? They did whatever the hell they felt like. Case in point: Spike started fell in love with Buffy, said "oh noes!" and then said well, why the fuck not? And then proceeded to steal her panties and build little shrines to her.
