Top 5 shows

I don't watch a lot of tv. The only show I'm watching religiously that's on right now is "24". If BtVS or AtS were still on, I'd never miss them. There was a time when I wouldn't miss "Gilmore Girls," but now I never watch it. I wouldn't mind seeing every ep of Disney's "Gargoyles."

Top 5 Tori Amos songs

Oh, this one is agonizing. I'm going with the ones that struck me the most when I first heard them, because choosing a favorite is impossible.
-Winter
-Me and a Gun
-Muhammed My Friend
-Concertina
-her rendition of '97 Bonny and Clyde (never heard the Eminem version but man is hers creepy! I love it.)

There is a lot of her stuff I haven't heard yet. I don't own all her albums, but all the ones I do own I love to bits and pieces.

I'll get back to you on the Connor one. I have to go look them up!

We'd like to thank you for participating in this bid to entertain tkp. Have fun with your life supply of ducks!

Top 5 salty snacks, sweet snacks. So is that like, 5 salty snacks, 5 sweet snacks? Or 5 sweet and salty snacks? Or 2.5 salty, 2.5 sweet?

salty
-Combos
-Cheez-its
-Pringles
-McDonald's french fries
-eggs with bacon, parmesean, garlic, pepper (salty cause I put salt on 'em)

sweet
-cookies
-double stuff oreos
-peanutbutter oreos
-girlscout cookies
-dark chocolate chip dried cherry walnut oatmeal cookies (everything cookies, for short)
(bonus) : icecream. With cookies.

sweet and salty
-pringles with marshmellows on them
-McDonald's french fries dipped in Wendy's frosties
-peanutbutter sunday from our local custard place
-Pei Wei Spicy chicken
-apples dipped in creamcheese, carmel, and salty peanuts. Oh god, try it.

Top 5 Tear-jerker moments from movies
-when Liam Neeson keeps saying he could've got one more and he's all hot and brood and so so sad! (Schindler's List, only movie that makes me cry every single time).
-when Mel Gibson is all, "FREEEEEEEDOMMMMMM!" (when he says it in Braveheart, not Chicken Run)
-when Tim Robbins escapes from jail and Norton Warden is all WTF (Shawshank Redemption)
-when Triton gets turned into a bottom dweller by Ursula the giant octopus (The Little Mermaid)
-when ROTK ended and I knew there'd be no more.

Top 5 Tear-jerker moments from TV

I don't watch much tv and I don't cry much. BtVS/AtS are pretty much it.

-"Prophecy Girl"
-"The Wish"
-"Chosen"
-"Home"
-Belle and Sebastian, when they finally got to where they were going (it was on so long ago now I can't remember. Best. Show. Ever. I need to find out if there are dvds).

Top 5 Squirmy-Hot-Sexy moments in movies.

-when Alan Rickman opened his mouth and talked.
-when Julia Ormond touches Harrison Ford's hair in the newer version of Sabrina, and they kiss.
-when Rogue goes to check on Wolverine because he's nightmaring and Hugh Jackman stabs her and she drains away his life. Or when Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine is doing anything, really.
-Scarlett and Rhett's first kiss (all their kissing. Vivien Leigh claims Clark Gable's breath stank)
-Samantha Morton and Cirian Hinds' first kiss in the A&E Jane Eyre. It's been on several lists as the worst kiss ever, but I like it because she looks absolutely like someone who's never kissed before. The scene where she runs away is hot, too, even if it's all wrong.

Top 5 Squirmy-Hot-Sexy moments in TV.

-when Lizzy turns down Mr. Darcy in the A&E Pride and Prejudice (is that tv? It was a mini-series. Really, I was squirming. No touching and no nothing, just arguing and . . . oh, 'tis hot).
-when Buffy and Angel were kissing in the morning in "Innocence," I think.
-when Angel pushed Buffy against the refrigerator and she wrapped her legs around him and he moved her over to the table and climbed on top of her
-when Jack got tortured (naked) in S2 of "24"
-when Spike is talking to Anya, before they start humping on the table. Usually Spike on screen equals hotness, but there was something in particular about that scene. Which is weird, because I tend to think he has more chemistry with Buffy than Anya, but it was an Anya scene.

top 5 favorite birds

Hey! I already knew mine, or I wouldn't have asked.
-herons
-egrets (both herons and egrets frequent our neighborhood byous. And I will always associate egrets with my one of my favorite books from when I was 13 or so, because there were egrets on the cover.)
-seagulls (okay, they're annoying. But 1. my grandfather loves to feed them his chubs, and I have such lovely memories of him feeding them and my granny and him discussing their bullying ways, 2. the book Johnathan Livingston Seagull. I have a seagull necklace, even. I just like 'em.)
-sandpipers. They're very common around here, and they run really really fast instead of flying.
-sparrows. (I love the ones that appear in the book A Little Princess--all my favorite birds have to do with books, it seems--and they're really fun to make metaphors out of.)

top 5 favorite foods
-dark chocolate chip dried cherry walnut oatmeal cookies (everything cookies, for short)
-my mommy's homecooked pizza
-lamb tikka masala with rice and the onion thing from that place in Norwich I can't go to any more because I'm not in the UK
-sausage balls
-Houston's (the restaurant) spinach dip

top 5 favorite BtVS episodes

-Prophecy Girl (that's when I knew I was in love with this show)
-Passions (I loved it when he killed Jenny. I wanted Angelus evil evil evil because that makes Angel that much more of an interesting and strong person, imo)
-The Wish (for exactly the reason you said on yours. Cordy does NOT die in eps like that. Also, Wishverse!Buffy is bloody brilliant. I love Buffy so, so much, and to see her like that tore me apart. Plus, the slo mo at the end kills me every time)
-Hush (goes without saying, really)
-Once More With Feeling (I can't believe they pulled it off)

Thank you for embarking with us into this realm of entertainment and imagination. You will be recieving this cute, peaceful bunny for your efforts. Image hosting by Photobucket

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
If I was allowed to invite fictional characters, I wouldn't care whether they got along or not. I'd just invite who I most wanted to see. But, in light of your prompt:

To romanticize:
-Marianne Dashwood
-Anne of Green Gables
-Maria (from The Sound of Music)
-Sara Crew (from A Little Princess, older, so I can see how she grew up and who she ended up with)
-Tatyana (from Eugene Onegin)

To be sparkly, witty, misguided, and human:
-Elizabeth Bennet
-Buffy Summers
-Isobel Archer (from Portrait of a Lady)
-Lorelai Gilmore (from the show "Gilmore Girls")
-Prospero (only because I don't believe Shakespeare is fictional)

To brood, say nothing, not look at each other, and say how much they hate themselves when I've plied them with too much booze:
-Angel
-Jean Valjean
-Erik (from The Phantom of the Opera, after he last sees Christine. Not the book version or the musical version or any version but the one in my head.)
-Severus Snape
-Mr. Rochester

Interesting how I don't seem to like the mixing of gender idea we recently acquired in these past 100 years or so.

What an interesting question.
-Tina, the waitress in "City of" because she was pretty and Angel couldn't save her.
-the Gentleman (creepiest ever)
-the chick from "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been". Loved the actress, love the parallels to Angel, and love that she turned on him.
-actress in "Eternity" --I like how she played off Angel
-the foot tall fear demon, cause gee, that was unexpected

Five story ideas you would love to read but will never write

-post NFA Buffy/Connor, every one else is dead. I just finished writing the closest I'll ever get, and it wasn't what I had in mind.
-Spuffy in which all their issues are settled to my satisfaction and they can be happy together. I'm convinced it can be done but I'm shit out of ideas as to how. I just don't see it.
-that Connor/Connor fic
-Amber Benson RPF/S (if there's any I want to read them NOW)
-I don't have ideas I don't think I'll write, because I'm immoderate and arrogant like that. If other people have ideas, I steal them and want to write them for myself, because I'm thieving and arrogant like that.

Five stories someone else already wrote that you wish you had written
-"Vicarious" by [livejournal.com profile] germaine_pet (anything by her, really)
-"Losing My Religion" (same goes)
-"Mystery Play" by [livejournal.com profile] glossing
-"Phoenix Burning" by Yahtzee
-"The Nature of the Beast" by Jo (it was one of the first B/A fics I ever read)

Five reasons you love B/A

You and [livejournal.com profile] chrisleeoctaves are voyeuring my brain. I'm writing a thingy about why I love B/A. There aren't enough thingies to that effect, imo.

-he loves her enough to do what he thinks is right
-she instinctively knows the good in him
-they'll always be a part of each other's lives, together or not
-a part of him was secretly relieved when she died
-they're so fuckin hot!

Five fannish arguments on which you would like Joss Whedon to chip in.
ext_7189: (lissla)

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
-during an argument about fanfic not being worthwhile, I'd like Joss Whedon to come in and vote for his favorite Buffyverse fic
-during an argument about RPS not being ethical, I'd like Joss Whedon to come and complain that not enough people write about David Boreanaz fucking him senseless
-during an argument between Spuffy shippers and B/A shippers, I'd like Joss Whedon to come and write a fem slash RPS in which all the shippers have one great big orgy, and they all waltz off happily into the sunshine
-during an argument about incest in fic, I'd like Joss Whedon to come in and say River spying on Simon/Kaylee in "Serenity" was a nod to River/Simon shippers
-during an argument about fb I'd like Joss Whedon to come and remind us all that comments are our friends.

Actually, I'd love for him to be able to say whatever the fuck he pleases. BtVS and AtS are now finished products, imo, and unless he pulls a George Lucas he cannot change them. The man exists entirely separate from the creation to me. As such, I'd love to know his opinions about them and anything that goes on in fandom without this idea people seem to have that suggests he has "authority" and "responsibility" to fandom. However, since the world doesn't work that way, I guess he has to be careful.

There is a fic where Buffy eats that very thing and skeeves Angel. I know how he feels.

I must've written it in another life. I've never met anyone who's ever thought of that snack, much less loved it as I do.

The Angel/Buffy kissing in his apartment in Innocence is my top hot moment!

I like the IWRY kissing scene more, but this one is my definite second. Like, ever. Those two look so hot together. And I love how Angel looks in white, and I love how young she is, and I love how's he's all sleepy-bye, and I love how he went and had all these erotic dreams about her just afterward, and hated himself for it.

Wait til season 4, when it's all torture, all the time!

I saw S4, but there was no nakedness of Jack, so it did nothing for me.

Five things George Orwell, E.M. Forster, and Virginia Woolf would talk about if they met up for dinner.

I have never read any essays by any of these people. Of course I've read several Orwell and Forester novels though. Never any Woolf though (yes! I am a graduated English major) because I am afraid of Virginia Woolf.

-First and foremost, the weather.
-society and conformism
-women's rights
-time
-language

all with an undercurrent of sexuality.
