Just another chapter in La Vie De TKP

I don't care how it sounds, Captain Crunch tastes good in coffee.

Speaking of coffee, remember how I told you my coffee machine sucked? Well, it got better! Aureliano Buendía (that's the coffee machine's name, as he is the son of José Arcadio Buendía) was facing the firing squad, but now he is crafting small gold-lief fish! Or something. Go him! But then I cleaned him and he was watery again, but now better again. The ups and downs of his life, they suit his name.

If you have commented or posted in the past two weeks, I have read it. I just haven't replied because of stuff! Do you like stuff? I like stuff.

I am very excited by the fic(s) I am writing right now. That's good. Fic-writing is a happy thing.

I'm addicted to WEBoggle. It's [livejournal.com profile] entrenous88's fault. I didn't even know about it until her. Now I've got my brother, s-i-l, and mom addicted too. Now that's entertainment! How does the water buffalo fit in again?

I've convinced my BFF (TiFF is her name and she won't get lj but I don't really want her to because then she'll find out I read porn) to watch BtVS/AtS with me. She's always dissing it and she used to diss me for liking it but she stopped that because I stopped letting it bother me. Anyway, so I convinced her to watch ALL OF IT, and I can hardly wait. In fact, I so can't wait that I started and watched S1 again without her. And half of season 2. But that doesn't mean I can't watch them AGAIN. Oh, the B/A. It makes me want to dance a very lively dance that can be danced while sitting down and perhaps sleeping as I am tired. But I have observations! Things I've never observed before! But I'm going to wait to post them until I can throw in some classic TiFF ones too because she's such a hoot. God I love that girl.

Speaking of waiting to post, dude! I have so many things to say to you all (yes, to you! Hello! *squish*) but all of it is half-formed, cookin' in my noggin like so many noodley things al dente. [livejournal.com profile] dovil, if I was an Al I'd be al dente.

[livejournal.com profile] crazydiamondsue says, if you name drop in your posts, more people comment.

I weeded the gardens today. It was fun to get all dirty and sweaty with the dirt under my nails and I got to see a toad, and wear my hat, the only hat that fits as I have a big head but this particular hat is very cute I swear, BUT, I'm allergic to weeds. And these were very tall weeds as I've been saying I'd weed since February (that's when I weed) and I didn't get around to it til now, so with their tall shoulder-high wispiness they kept brushing my face and very-risqué-only-for-bed-and-the-yard-camisole, and with their lovers' touch they have marked me forever more. I have red welts everywhere. I thought they went away but they are still here; just pink.

You know what I like about Spike? Is I don't think he's very fickle. I know this guy, and he's such a great guy, like part of our family almost, and he keeps having very bad luck in love. And a lot of the time, the way he thinks reminds me of Spike, not the way he acts, or his personality, but just kind of his approach to life, it's a Spikean personality. Except for the fickle thing. He changes his mind too often for me. It's partly because I tend to be a bit plodding, and partly because I'm a bit of a luddite in some fashion, and partly because I'm HORRIBLY stubborn, but I just don't think I change my mind about things very often. That's a lot different from being close-minded, or not seeing other points of view, but I don't know, I think I am perhaps overly obsessed with consistency.

SPEAKING OF SPIKE. There was an argument today with friends and family and it was getting old so I said, "Spike's cock rocks my clock", and then realized I said it aloud. Oops. But then there was discussion about Spike's cock, which is always good.

SPEAKING OF SPIKE'S COCK, season one of Angel is the only one I'm sure of in a rating 1 through 5, 1 being best season and 5 being not the best season, I give it a not the best season. There are some really great eps in it, but it's the only season where the main thread of the narrative doesn't make me say, guh, this is the best season, because there really was no narrative thread in S1; they were still figuring everything out. Also, Doyle. He's cute and he's Irish and he does this head thing in IWRY when he's talking about what B/A may or may not be doing downstairs, and Angel loves him I think, but I just can't like him very much for some reason.

I saw that movie with Antonio Banderas. I am a sucker for cheesy dancing movies, I think. It was extremely lame and I was very entertained.

That's it, folks. I'm tired. Plus, I wanted to use the word "folks."

ETA: dictionary.com says fickle means changeableness but especially as it relates to "affections or attachments", and that's what I meant as far as Spike goes. Still, I wish I hadn't written that now, because it has a ring of "huh?" considering how often Spike decides to do one thing but does another.

There were two spelling bee movies advertised recently, and I can't remember which was which, because I thought one looked cute and the other looked awful. The one with Richard Gere looked awful. I like Morpheus. Though the Akeelah advertising at Starbucks has been driving me nuts. They have all these spelling words floating around, but without definitions, and they're obscure words, so I don't know what most of them mean! But I was very self-satisfied to learn that the general populance doesn't know the word "antediluvian".

Oh, Colonel Brandon. I wrote a paper about how he was really closer to Marianne's ideal than anyone ever accused him of being; i.e., I wrote a proof that he actually IS a super stud. But it is true that he does not have Hugh Grant's hair, and I know how you love that floppy quality.

I'm glad you're reading and liking Beauty! I wouldn't expect anything to complex out of it; it's just a really fun story, I think.

The spelling bee movie you want to see is Spellbound which is a fascinating documentary. Weird fact - the really annoying, incredibly peculiar kid is someone my husband knew.

I thought you were going to say he was your husband, for some reason.

And ok! I'm perfectly willing to have you educate me on movies, too :o)

HA! The movie was filmed maybe six years ago. My husband was teaching at a camp for gifted kids and he was one of his charges. Every day he talked about how he was going to kill that kid. Watch the movie and you'll know why. One of those kids who knows he's bright and finds it impossible to believe that he could ever be wrong; it's got to be your fault.

Even Aaron was never quite that arrogant (although close at times.)

antediluvian - a rather old word, huh? ;-) (I confess to looking it up myself)

I just learned the word "speciously" and thought it was rather fitting to Elsa's actions towards Maria during the ball.

/sigh/ Hugh Grant's hair is heavenly. You just want to run your fingers through it as... oh, sorry. I love the idea of your paper. Did the prof buy your arguement? I can see him being Marianne's ultimate ideal. He was perfect for her more-balanced self. Obviously Austen felt the same way.

Beauty is so good! She just started to see things differently and could hear the maids. I love the whole dress scene - from the maids thinking they're helping her along, to the Beast's oh-so sweet "you care how I see you?" to the awesome end (of the chapter) with the whole house waiting with baited breath as the Beast offers her his arm. Awww!!!

I didn't know that word either! And yeah, it fits perfectly!

I got a good grade on the paper, though I'm not sure the prof bought it all. Austen got a lot of flack for Marianne ending up with Brandon and Austen writing that it turned out happy. That makes no sense to me though.

Gah! I love that book! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!
