Answers to the me meme

1) This is my brother.
Yep. He actually looks rather like me, some people have said. Then again you'd have to know what I look like for that to be any help. TRUE.

2) That's me in the middle and the gals to the right, left, and upper right of me are my three best friends.
This is a picture of me and my best friends. However, I'm the one on top. The other three are, left to right: Kristy, Tiff, and Helen. They're who I'm talking about when I say "BFF"s. We got this picture by Tiff turning her camera around, holding her arm out, and randomly clicking. I can't believe it turned out so well. FALSE.

3) This is my favorite spot to visit.
This is Elk, California. I went there when I was about 9, and loved it almost more than any spot I've ever vacationed. Except, of course, Leland Michigan. FALSE.

4) I fangirl one of these people.
I guess this was a bit of a trick, so I apologize (but [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom got it! Guess we think alike). I do not fangirl one of these people; I fangirl both of them! FALSE.

5) This chicken ate out of my hand.
This was my s-i-l's chicken, Gertrude. Dude, lemme tell you, a chicken picking at your hand feels weird. TRUE.

6) I once lived within walking distance of this spot.
This is Norwich, England, at the nature reserve near the University of East Anglia. I lived at UEA my junior year of college, and for one day in the winter, it snowed madly. TRUE.

A) Four jobs I have had in my life: food prepper, waitress, cashier, and personal assisstant.
B) Four movies you would watch over and over: Sabrina (1995), Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Sound of Music, Star Wars: A New Hope
C) Four places you have lived: Houston, Texas; Leland, Michigan; Norwich England; Katy Texas (cop out!)
D) Four TV shows you love to watch: Disney's Gargoyles, Beauty and the Beast, The Simpsons, X-men (the cartoon from way back when)
E) Four places you have been on vacation: Rome, Italy; Salzburg, Austria; Edinburgh, Scotland; Paris, France
F) Web sites you visit daily: lj, mail, Google, dictionary.com
G) Four of my favorite foods: cookies, sausage balls, little weiner things wrapped in Pillsbury croissant, Houston's spinach dip
H) Four places I would rather be right now: inside clean clothes; inside a bathtub with a cool desk thing where you can work on your computer in the tub (yes, I would so be doing this naked and you would never know); 1800s Austria, where I would appear magical and cooler (way better than Edward Norton!) with my laptop, and thus influence the masses to worship me. Also I would be wearing very cool clothes. Which wouldn't be dirty.; on Serenity.

Fork. I totally should have actually posted my guesses because I would have been pretty much right. I though he was your brother, knew that wasn't you, and knew that you fangirled both DB and Chrislee. I also suspected that you'd lived near that place.

Of course I have absolutely no way of proving any of this. Drat.

You can win anyway.

*showers confetti on you*

You are so cute. But I will still always think you look like your icon. I do this with everyone on my FL, and as I have often said, the problem of course is that in my head, half my FL looks like some version of James Marsters.

ha! Sue has met me and spent 2 days with me and still feels that I look like my icon.

[identity profile] crazydiamondsue.livejournal.com 2006-08-27 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
You *DO* like your icon.

So do I. :)

I look like a spoon? Well, kinda, I guess. *g*

Let's pretend you never said you that, 'kay?

HAHAHHA OK!

[identity profile] romanyg.livejournal.com 2006-08-26 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't get a chance to guess--but I knew you were the one on the top left because you've posted a photo of yourself before.

And you got me on the trick fangirl question, you trickster, you. *g*

You have are more well-traveled than me. This is a good thing, but I am slightly jealous.

1800s Austria? Really?

Well, it was from so far away and you couldn't see my face that I hoped to fool people. Guess I'm only good for one trick. Aaaaand that sounds dirty.

You have are more well-traveled than me. This is a good thing, but I am slightly jealous.

When I lived in England, it was so easy to go anywhere in Europe.

1800s Austria? Really?

I just saw The Illusionist (which was really good but rather disappointing in some respects). So tomorrow, no, probably not really, but I get caught up in a world and want to *go* there.

Ah, but I could see your wavy hair and since there's only one person with wavy hair in that picture...

Yes, I get that feeling too. And then I remember the cholera and the dysentery and then I think, not so much. *g*

Ha! Exactly. I have a 19th century fetish. Unless you're talking about the 19th c. in reality--in that case, oh 21st, you are so beautiful!

Disney made a Gargoyles series??? Is that the animated one I sometimes see when I'm clicking the remote???
ext_7189: (Default)

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2006-08-26 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, it's animated. It was on when I was in middle school, and it's definitely aimed at kids, but it's pretty much my favorite show ever except for anything Whedon. It has what I think is a really kickass premise (which should be made into a more serious live action movie or tv show), great little stories with really really good themes (many of which have loose basis in Shakespeare), and phenomenal voice actors (many of whom are from Star Trek: The Next Generation, including the actors who played Riker, Worf, Deanna Troi, and Data. The guy who does the main voice isn't a Star Trek guy but he has the sexiest voice ever bar none except Alan Rickman).

I wish it was on when I'm flicking *my* remote. Once when I stayed at a place that had the Disney channel I would stay up until three in the morning, to watch the marathon reruns they played.

[identity profile] anelith.livejournal.com 2006-08-26 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I remember that guy's voice! I've only seen it once or twice but that voice made me swoon.

I'd watch it again if I could. And especially if I could watch it somewhere away from the kids so I could swoon in private and not be embarrassed in front of the kids.

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2006-08-27 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! Yeah, I don't have the kids problem, but it *is* difficult to explain to some people why I am so obsessed with this cartoon.

Of course, I have the same problem explaining my Buffy obsession!

[identity profile] anelith.livejournal.com 2006-08-26 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I fell for the fangirl trick question. And that snapshot is a really great one! I thought it was deliberately posed with models, because it is so good. A once-in-a-lifetime lucky shot sort of snapshot.

What beautiful places you've visited and lived.

I know! I thought it was so cool you didn't think it was real. I mean, not because I tricked you, but because the random goodness of that pic surprised us all! We've never had a pic that good, and we've been friends for so many years!

I've been lucky in my life. Thanks so much for playing!

[identity profile] a2zmom.livejournal.com 2006-08-26 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I am still positive that that last shot was used in a movie. Hrmph.

And you and your BFFs are so cute.
ext_7189: (Default)

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2006-08-27 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's pretty, isn't it?

And thank you! You know, about 9 years being bestest friends with them, and that's the first really good pic we ever got. Harrumph. Generally, I hate pictures of myself. The only other recent one I like is this one of my mommy and I. I will post that one one day because really. We were cute.

[identity profile] i-palimpsest.livejournal.com 2006-08-26 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to LOVE Gargolyes. I had it on Video from a friend and used to stay up late and watch them over and over again.

Also loving the idea of your bath desk.
ext_7189: (Default)

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2006-08-27 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
I think they came out with DVDs for Gargoyles? If so, I need to BUY them because...BEST SHOW EVER minus Whedon shows. I fangirl that series like whoa.

Ah, bath desk. If I had my way I'd spend half my life naked. I mean, in the bath. ;o)

[identity profile] crazydiamondsue.livejournal.com 2006-08-27 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
I would have ROCKED these answers. If I'd been here. Of course, I have unfair advantage.

COOKIES!

Also, did we talk about Gargoyles? Because - love.

And I still owe you a reply to your fantastic email. I'm still taking it all in, but you're brilliant.
ext_7189: (Default)

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2006-08-27 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
COOKIES!

No, we didn't talk about Gargoyles, and man, MASSIVE love. I think I said above--it's my favorite show that's not Whedon. What's funny is I think 3 out of my 4 unWhedon shows are animated. Kids shows were so much cooler.

Well, as far as X/A goes--you must understand that ever since someone requested an X,A drabble, shortly after which I read SMCD, I've been thinking about the parallels between those two. So I'm not so much brilliant as someone who has no life and thinks about these things way too much :o)
