Poll#4: Crack AU

I have meta on canon-based fic, AU, and crack; then I have kind of fun crack thoughts; then I have crazy crack ideas.

[Poll #810023]

I seriously needed an option for:

Angel is an independantly wealthy, but still phenomenally successful business man . . . . . who owns an art gallery

sadly true. or, is also an artist who is about to have a major show at the Summers gallery.

Hahahaha, yes.

*hugs the crazy crazy AUs, which I love. No lie*

He does, Oh, he does.

Sometimes she uses him like facial cream.

Hooker Buffy is much more likely to smell like cream of cum than vanilla, is all I'm saying.

Were you serious about Angel the drug addict?

Because I totally know of one.

Mainline, by [livejournal.com profile] incasink

It's A/S, both A and S are recovering addicts. To me, this was like a story about two original characters, but parts of it were hot.

I've always thought most AUs were basically original characters, but hey. The only AU I could really get into was Angel/Xander, and I think that was because it resembled a harlequin romance novel quite a lot... *NoLife*

Thanks for the link, I need something to read during a cold. ;.;

This is like a harlequin romance without all the trim. That is, pretense at plot and pesky taboos don't get in the way. I enjoyed reading it.

Hope you feel better!

It would be a heady mix.

That Angel wishes they would bottle and sell.

Did az2mom write Human AU B/A or did I make that up?

Also, is there good B/A AU (Oh, god, call me now and hear how that sounds when I say it) and where would I find links if I'm curious? Yellow.

There was going to be a poll question about how you pronounce that; I forgot.

A2z hasn't, but chrisleeoctaves has: Past Imperfect. I prefer Chris's non AU stories more, though this is a fun read.

My favorite B/A all human AU is [livejournal.com profile] alleynyc's fic Road To Nowhere. I think quite a few of the things the Angel character in that fic goes through are things that I love about Angel in the series. It's not my favorite story for the portrayal of Spike, though.

My favorite B/A AU of all time, however, isn't all human, but rather one of those kinda alternate realities in which Buffy's still a Slayer and Angel a vamp, but everything else is different: Domestication, by indie. This is the kind of crack you call crack because you can't stop reading it and want it injected into you with a needle. Or at least I did when I read it--it was when I was first getting into B/A. But from what I remember of it I highly recommend it to anyone looking for compulsively readable B/A AU.

There are more--I can shell out Angel the babysitter or Buffy the hooker if you want, but these are the bestest, imo.
