phantom of the opera-anime

When I was first getting into POTO, someone linked me to this fanvid someone made of the ALW POTO Overture...dance mix...played over this...anime. I always remembered it forever because 1) it creeped me out. 2) it's utterly fascinating how well this anime seems to fit POTO. 3) I spent hours and hours wondering what the anime could possibly be about. 4) there were skulls and roses and stuff, and sad phan that I am, I get all fascinated by flowers and death.

Anyway, so I mentioned the vid to [livejournal.com profile] my_daroga, and she hadn't seen it before. Thank god for YouTube.

I've never watched anime. Unless you count dragonball Z. I used to watch that fairly regularly.

I used to watch DBZ, but it gets kinda annoying because of the drawn out fight sequences. Talking heads all over the place and battles that last for Episodes. I will never forget the Cell arc because I will never get those days of my life back that I lost as the gang fought and were beaten into the ground by the uber unstoppable super villan. I tend to go for the dark, angsty, shorter serials like Wolf's Rain and Trinity Blood. Bleach has been interesting, but it's got a little of the DBZ battle Syndrome, although the battles in Bleach don't usually go on for more than two or three eps.

Hmmm .... Blood Plus has been really, really good. Basilisk is AMAZING. Trigun is also very good. Love Inuyasha for one of the longer series and also the original Ranma 1/2 episodes. The later series are just ... odd to me. I've been wanting to try Naruto, but no joy yet. I can't seem to manage to keep sync with Full Metal Alchemist, so even though I like it, I'm never quite sure if I know what's going on. Then, of course, there's always movies. Kiki's Delivery Service is tres cute. Spirited Away is probably one o' my favorites.
