Stupid question

I haven't actually used broadcast television in over six years. But anyway, I'm at a hotel, and I thought I'd watch the Olympics since am too tired to really do anything else. Colleague says she's getting NBC on channel 41 in her room. I'm in the same hotel, but channel 41 is solid baseball. Channel 33 is NBC and is covering the Olympics, but the reception is horrible. I've stopped to watch most of the other channels to see if they're this bad, and they're just fine. This is the only channel continually cutting out, and NBC is definitely on a different channel in my colleague's room.

How does this work, exactly? Would some rooms be on satellite and some not? Idk if this is stupid, but I honestly don't understand. Also, you can't use the remote control to press 3-3. It will only register one number at a time. This is dumb but seems like it must be completely unrelated to the same-network-on-different-channels and horrible reception.

In other news I had dinner with seraphcelene who is a really amazing person. Comes highly recommended as a fandom and real life friend.

So there are these Russian couples skaters who scored the highest score ever last night or something and they're SUPPOSED TO BRING BACK THE DREAM OF RUSSIA or something; you know how Olympics newscasters are. But anyway they just skated and it was kind of hard to watch since the reception is so bad and everything, but they did it to Jesus Christ Superstar and it made me happy. Um so we should watch it.

Also is Fay(e) there? Are you having fun?

On second thought I forgot how STRESSFUL this is. Someone just fell and I gasped and then I wanted to cry. I don't even care that much about this couple and neither do the announcers. I just can't imagine going to the Olympics and you're in your fancy costume and everyone's there and it's your big day and then you fall down on a jump you've made a thousand times it's the saddest and I still want to cry. Everyone is so pretty.

No. It doesn't actually exist. There's one Sherlock skating AU from what I can tell and it's not really what I want. I really do want a Tony Stark skating AU; it would just be so hilarious.

There's a bunch of Thor/Loki skating AUs. No surprise, really. They're all The Cutting Edge--Thor is a hockey player. Of course he is.

The most hilariously titled one is a skating one for Game of Thrones called, "A Song of Mostly Just Ice."
