Guilty Pleasures

Because it's almost 5am, and I still can't get to sleep.

[livejournal.com profile] stultiloqentia recently posted a drinking game for Spuffy smut fic. It's a list of words you're sure to have seen a time or two (except for, you know, gnomon). Of course, "cold dead seed" makes an appearance.

Also, a while back, [livejournal.com profile] kita0610 had an outing for the old schoolers who invented things like Buffy's vanilla scent. They're those things that get used again and again. And again.

And on [livejournal.com profile] stultiloqentia's list? I was surprised to realize I don't care how over-used it is, I still find the primal roar/whisper "Mine!" sexy. I also get turned on by Buffy's "tiny hands" (in Angel's broad ones), even though it's in every single fic on ff.net, the unsexiest place in the whole wide world.

I've managed to convince myself I'm not the only one.

So come on. What are those "I don't care how many times I see it, I still like it"s? Okay, it might be more of a "I don't care how many other people misuse it, I still like it if it's done right", but you have one, don't you? You like seeing Spike say "Da" or "Yes, Sire," or "Xanpet". You like Buffy's mossy green eyes and Angel's chocolate ones. You like it when _____'s mouth is like satin and ______'s spunk tastes like honey. You like it when Buffy finds out Angel married her without telling her when he put the Claddagh ring on her finger. You like seeing Angel spelled "Angle". What's your cliché-kink?

Purring. I loves me some purring vampires, as long as it's not twee, cute purring.

Then Spike wraps his awww, kitten!tail around Xander's aww, preciously adorable dick and--

Oh. Not the twee, cute purring. Gotcha.

(faintly) There's kitten!tail fic?

But: deep throaty purrs of anticipation. Savage, exultant, half-growling purrs of lust. Sleepy, sated purrs of contentment.

And growling! Especially growling where Buffy gets off on it and pulls game!faced!Spike down and there's tongue-kissing with fangs, but when Spike comes he goes into human face because Buffy makes him feel like a man.

Cough. I'll be in my bunk.

I just assume there's everything, honey. That's how come I love this world.

but when Spike comes he goes into human face because Buffy makes him feel like a man

That is . . .

just . . . I . . . don't usually . . .

love. That? Is love.

Speaking of which, there needs to be more forehead ridge love. Seriously those creases and stuff've gotta be sensitive, and no one touches Angel or Spike there since they got souls/ lost Dru. Just gentle finger/tongue exploration, with Angel or Spike fisting the sheets beside them just hoping--the other--doesn't--oh, fuck!--stop.

Yeah. Bunk.

Dude! I thought I was the only one with the brow ridge stroking kink! I write that all the time! (Well, three or four times. And once it was with Tara and Vamp!Willow.)

Link? I've never read any Tara and Vamp!Willow fic. I'm ashamed to mention I've never even thought of it. Did I mention I love the world?

Well... I should warn you that it's in the middle of a novel. Which is the third in a trilogy. And they don't actually get to the sex part in this scene, because Tara doesn't realize quite how erotic a vamp finds it, and is doing it in public. But the chapter where the lumpy-scratching occurs is here: http://sleepingjaguars.com/buffy/pom6.htm

But oh! You're famous. I've been meaning to read the whole thing. I'm not the biggest Spuffy fan ever, but I do enjoy good writing, and these fics come highly recommended. I will bookmark and read it all some day.

Hee! Not that famous. I haven't had to beg people to defriend me yet. *g* But it occurs to me that I really haven't given this brow ridge business all the attention it deserves. Have to do something about that...

I haven't had to beg people to defriend me yet.

Ha! I'll take that as an invitation to friend you. Hope you don't mind.

Have to do something about that...

Do. It should be a thing. Like Spike Da'ing Angel is a thing, like Spike buying Xander clothes is a thing, like Spike likening Buffy unto a goddess is a thing. I've been wanting to use brow ridge stroking hotness in a fic of mine, but it'll be a long while 'til I get anywhere near where it could happen. People need to take up the cause. If I had any talent at all, I'd make an icon.

Sure, friend at will!

If the famous trilogy is daunting, give one of her short stories a shot.

"My Baby is a Centerfold", the funniest buddy cop story ever, in which Spike and Dawn team up to save the world from internet porn. (No, it's not metafiction!)

"Something Like the Sun", in which Buffy, uh, wrestles with her demon. (Set in Pylea!)

Or Girl Talk, in which Buffy ruminates upon the talents of her various amours. (I think this one's the shortest; it'll take you two minutes.)

/pimp ;)

Yes, Barb, you're famous. Now more brow ridges, please. Brow ridges in Vegas?

Why, thank you! Strange that from a post about cliches, I've gotten such great fic recs.
