Poll #3: Other Fandoms

Hey! So, I have a multi-fandom poll! Take it!

[Poll #805135]

random:

House is great completely because of Hugh Laurie. He actually broke a very ill teenage girl's finger in oner episode because he didn't like her! And you still don't completely hate the character. If you'd like to get caught on the show, I designed a poll which lists every major plot ever used on the show.

SPN is completely brainless. I enjoy its take on American myths and legends but there is nothing deep about the show. Two wobies run around killing monsters. It's Buffy minus the brillance. There is some good fic out there, although I read very little of it.

I read HP when a new book comes out and then I never think about it again. Except when the wank explodes.

LotR is a move/book about mythic archtypes. Which was completely appropriate for the story. But who wants to read about cardboard characters?

There are not enough naked rugby players.

I'm just not sure I would find House lovable. Did I tell you about the only 5 minutes of it I've ever seen? House was watching a horse race on tv (I assume he had money on it). A girl next to him started seizuring--collapsed on the floor, frothing at the mouth or something. Everyone around was trying to help her, telling others to go get a doctor. And of course, you must know the moral of this story, House was just standing there watching his race. And telling everyone who was helping the girl they were doing the wrong things without giving an ounce of help.

I just have a hard time watching that. Maybe I would get over it, I don't know. I watched a couple eps of Gray's Anatomy and couldn't continue because I felt the doctors were so much more concerned with themselves than saving lives, and that just makes me sad.

I saw your poll! I couldn't take it because of complete ignorance.

I did feel like the book had cardboard cutout characters, which was as it should be. But I felt like the movie added some dimensions--just seeing human faces on some of those characters fleshes them out in the way the books didn't (and shouldn't. I still think Tolkien would point out that the movies utterly missed the point).

That's the only ep of House I've seen, too! How weird is that? I was like, "Hmm, Hugh Laurie's interesting, but do we need another medical procedural?" My answer was "no," but I've been outvoted by my flist. (and those frickin' CAPSLOCKERS are da bomb)

And you, [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom, are awesome.

I only saw the first 10 minutes of that ep, but yeah--weird!

I never got medical procedurals. The only medical show I was the least bit interested in was Doogie Houser. And come on, I was like, 7.

a2z is the awesomest of awesome.
