Oh, 4 was the one I was going to read, and then leave fb to surprise you because you didn't know I was interested in the fandom, and then while we were discussing that I was going to drop a hint that I was interested in the ship so you'd give me recs. HAHHAHAH. Except now you know so I have to kill you. I have such a backlog of fic by you to read, it kills me. Gah.
Now, 5 I did start to read because you linked it without saying what it was, and I just clicked. Stoney, I read about the first 500 words and I just didn't get it. Then again, I did that with the first thing I read by Kita--stylistic tricks/disconnected bits utterly and completely turned me off--until on like the 6th time I finally convinced myself to plow on ahead and HOLY SHIT. Should've taught me a lesson, I guess.
*mind wipes self so you can carry on with your plan*
As for that fic by tacks, YEAH. It took me about halfway through the first chapter before I caught her rhythm. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. It's like a Sliding Doors scenario, set up at the end of Curse of the Black Pearl. Norrington's sick. Let the hurt/comfort begin. (And obviously if it's just not your bag, then it's just not. There are certain fics I avoid because they strike me as false, as having been written to "fit in" with a crowd, or just really purple and overwrought.)
I love love love the prison fic I wrote, but honestly, the Gen-fic fits the actual movie better. I love artistic pieces (as I call them in my head) but really, I like the ones that put me back in the movie/book/show so much more. Um, I guess I should say TOOT TOOT. [/own horn]
I like both--artistic fics and fics that get you back inside the source material, I mean. I'm working on a post on this. About what you put in a fic vs what would "really" happen. And I already did a post on writing for theme/artistic/masterpiece purposes and writing for character/plot/masturbatory purposes, I think. And there's too much I want to say and I've been spending ALL DAY on lj because I miss it so.
I have a secret h/c kink but never tell anyone because it's so easy to do badly; I don't want people to think I like schlock.
I'll get to them all eventually I hope--thanks again.

Btw: Jack Sparrow/Norrington? OMG HOT.
I don't watch 'SPN', but I read a nc-17 Faith/Dean fic just 'cause of the sex. I'm bad.
House = AMAZING. I would pay to get spanked by that cane.

I'd like to start reading PotC fic solely for the sake of Norrington.
I want to read all the Faith/Dean but just can't bring myself because I don't know Dean!
Lots've people say House is great. I really ought to give it a try.

MWAHHAHAHAHA! I've been meaning to enlist your aid in this forever but just never seem to have time. I waste it writing stupid polls.

1. wall kink porn, but the good kind (Sparrow/Norrington)
2. prison fic - great characterization, no porn
3. My PotC gen fic - cat and mouse-esque
4. My prison porn fic *cough*
5. My absolute most favorite NC-17/storytelling/characterization Sparrow/Norrington fic of them all.
If you need more, you need only to ask. :D
