Poll #3: Other Fandoms

Hey! So, I have a multi-fandom poll! Take it!

I'm not really multi-fannish, just one fandom after another ish. I kinda played in the HP fandom in 2001, when it wasn't quite so scary, and sometimes I like to pop back--but I keep my face hidden and skirt the edges because WHOA.

[livejournal.com profile] femmenerd says the same thing about why she plays in SPN. I can see that. It's different, but I watch "Bones"--and have developed liking and interest in several characters not played by DB (and even a ship not involving DB)--simply because everyone else is talking about it.

I was interested in fandom recs, which yeah, is different from show recs. Lots of people may know The Sound Of Music, but how many know what a nice comfortable cozy little corner of fandom it has? Or used to have; I haven't really been involved with it in some time. But anyway, any rec for anything is welcome--lots of cool people have mad, crazy love for Farscape, and I really need to try it out!

I would never have guessed that The Sound of Music has an active fandom; that is interesting.

As far as fandoms go, I got eaten by Wicked real person femslash a couple of weeks ago, which is strange given that I'm not that much of a RPF person most of the time. I've got nothing against it; I just don't seek it out. This, though, is strangely enthralling. It doesn't really overlap with the fandoms I habitually hang out in, so I had no idea how large and involved it is (though I should have guessed given the slashiness of the source material - it just never really occurred to me to look).

Wicked! I haven't had a chance to see that. I'd like to read the book, though. Thanks for the heads up!
