Poll #3: Other Fandoms

Hey! So, I have a multi-fandom poll! Take it!

[Poll #805135]

I should edit it to femmenerd and regala_electra. I felt like there was this sudden explosion of Faith/Dean and I was all like huzzahwhat?

Heh, well I lost my mind and last month, I was all, "ZOMG, I have an idea for an awesomely cracktastic coupling!" And then it turns out others thought about it as well. It is very tasty.

I am very pleased that others are reccing FS. Yay.

Farscape could be called 'the one with puppets,' but it's so much more. There are only two main characters who are puppets (made by the Henson company) and one of them is like 8 feet tall and you seriously wind up forgetting he's a puppet. No, really.

I've actually said while discussing the show, "Oh man, did you see how sad Pilot looked? I can't believe they did that!" Heh, they're very good at making their puppets come to life. Pilot is like a snarky commander on a ship, popping in with helpful information such as "We're...somewhere else! I'll get back to you on the specifics," or sadly explaining that in order to travel, his species basically sacrifices centuries off their lifespans to journey - and not just to see the stars, but to serve others. *Sniff*

One of the best episodes of S2 (The Way We Weren't) deals with Pilot and it is awesome.

John Crichton's story is the crux of Farscape and it is just astounding. It's done so well and their storytelling at the best of times blows A:tS's longer arcs out of the water, in my slightly biased opinion.

F/D was your idea? I haven't been around much. Suddenly several different people were all F/D! F/D! And I was all, huh?

It's not quite true what I said about puppets. I *loved* the puppets on Star Wars. When they were puppets and not CGI.

I'll definitely give it ago some day. Hopefully soon!

Oh dear, I didn't explain it well. No, F/D was not my idea. I randomly posted in my lj last month about how awesome Faith/Dean would be. I think I then found [livejournal.com profile] femmenerd and her posts about it.

Henson puppets are awesome. Mostly because you can tell they enjoy making them as realistic as possible.

Do give it a go! I tend to say at least give the entire first season a shot. The early episodes are a bit uneven, the cast & crew were not sure if it was a show for kids or for adults, but by Episode 16 (A Human Reaction), they've absolutely nailed what the show is about. Everything from then on is pretty damn fabulous.
