I was thinking ok, English dude, superhero, what--ahahahahah Alfred. And then I erased it because I was like, MY WESLEY IS NOT ALFRED. EVEN, AT ALL. But then I thought it was funny, so I left it up, so people could leave comments comprised soley of:
Alfred/Batman, with three question marks.
And then . . . people voted for it. They also voted for Bambi/Thumper. *shrugs* I had some great Angel/Wesley ones, and they flew out of my head the moment I went to go write them down.
Duncan is this tall dark brooding caveman brow type hero/champion who fights Big Evil and also His Own Issues and has a million jokes about his hair in fandom and a long coat that billows behind him dramatically in the cold, dark, empty streets.
Joe's his watcher.
It's all rather amusing. And familiar to Joss, I'm more than willing to bet.
Instead of going away and leaving you alone like a normal person now, I will stick around just a little while longer and ask this: do we have any Joss quotes re Highlander, his liking of it, his fannishness of it, and its relation to any part of the TV shows he writes?
It would be! But yeah, I don't know. I know it's been talked about before, especially with the Immortal and all, but I've never seen Whedon say anything about it. Then again, I don't really read/see/watch many interviews with him or M.E. or the actors or anything like that, so I'm not the person to ask. But there's no doubt in my mind Whedon has knowledge of it.
Also: normal people have less fun. I have insomnia. No one is ever around at this hour.

That's okay then. Phew. Alright :)
...Not that I don't love and respect Alfred etc etc disclaimer. Just - very bad visual place all at once, attacked me.

...And then my head whispered viciously, "Duncan/Joe?"
And then I ran away.

Yeah, no, I love Alfred dearly, but Wesley is one fucked up badass and Alfred . . . kinda not so much.
