Happy Birthday, dlgood!

Sliding in just under the wire (my time, which is a cheat), but I hope you had a happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] dlgood. I owe many things to you: a very cool experience in Galveston, some enlightened perceptions regarding Buffy, Angel, and Angelus, and some good laughs and nods-along at your humorous and/or insightful posts. Not to mention owe-in-a-different-way that brochure, the best cookies ever and fb! But I hope today, you had cake, and got sung at by some very rowdy people with hats, and got at least three presents. With bows. That someone made you put on your head. And someone else took a picture of. A sombrero and complimentary flan at least? If you got a pony instead, it would be okay too. Hope it was good!

Oh, *awesome*! I loved that fic, and there've been several times since i read it I wanted the link. Oh, and thanks for the other one, too! All three of those fics I mentioned, I think, were things you recced. You do good recs.

Fic! Awesome! We want it! Now! *heavy breathing.* *and possibly stalking*. So glad that shaped up for you.

I'm . . . working . . . on . . . reading HPfic. *is ashamed forever*

I just got a beta back for a chapter of my WIP, though, which is awesome, but I don't feel particularly inspired on anything else of my Buffyverse projects at the moment. I work in cycles where I'm more and less interested in finishing anything. Now is less. But, thanks for asking.

I now have a tag on my LJ for everything I rec'd all the way back to 2002.

*whew*

"But, thanks for asking."

LOL, that was said with some conviction, there. **G No pressure, madame, I just love your stuff.

HP fic. Uh. Who's your ship? *looks shifty*

OH DEAR GOD. You don't know how much I want to smooch you. I know you hate tags 'cause with the being anal and I understand that so much, but after bleeding out my fingers trying to find the links to some of those recs, I just wish I could enforce tags on the whole goddamn world, just to make life easier for me--me me me! Because I'm selfish like that, of course.

LOL, that was said with some conviction, there. **G No pressure, madame, I just love your stuff.

ha, thanks, and no, I really *do* appreciate you asking. It's nice to know people are interested. I just, well, could whine all night about the fics that are on hiatus right now because I've gone listless for some weeks now, but I don't *like* listening to me whine so I don't. Sometimes I need to. Anyway there should be writing Viagra!

HP fic. Uh. Who's your ship? *looks shifty*

Well. *hedges*. Um, so I started reading Harry/Snape (I talked about it with [livejournal.com profile] ros_fod some, she pointed me to some good links), but then all the sudden it was Harry/Draco which I find simply APPALLING. It's way worse than waking up and finding a girly boy hot. It really is. It's not what I thought I was into *at all* and I feel very much like a little lost Dickens waif wishing for warm Jossverse home. Hee!

"It's way worse than waking up and finding a girly boy hot."

It isn't! I swear, when you've been happily married to Paul Bunyon for eighteen years and lusting after say, David Boreanaz and then suddenly WHAM! you wake up and find a boy in eyeliner who probably WEIGHS LESS THAN YOUR DOG attractive- it's ... it's a paradigm shift inside your pants, I tell you!!

Re: tags. Well, I figured I already tag my fic. I might as well tag *everyone else's* fic that I like, you know? Next, maybe I'll tag "meta" or "rants" or "things that make me smile" or something. I fear going crazy with it, though. I really do. Like, quitting my job, not bathing, and not getting off the couch until everything is organized by alphabet and theme crazy. But at least I don't read Harry/Draco. *ducks and runs away*

No no no, because that happened to me, the boy that weighs less than a dog after Paul Bunyon. You know, when I was around 14, (I might've told this story before, so um, sorry) I thought I was like, asexual or something, because I found *none* of the boys around me attractive. It took me a long while to figure out that none of them were big enough, old enough, or possessed of enough chest hair and necessity of shaving. Hey, and then VK, like a big ole whammy.

However. That is not as all as disconcerting as having your whole life, pantyfanned the hero, the strong ones, the big (and not physical size, I'm talking soul-wise and inner strength-wise) ones, the ones that go down far. Imagine waking up and feeling suddenly very interested in someone who is not only girly but a snivelling little shit of a coward who will never get past his petty pointy nose except to hope that maybe someone will feel sorry enough for him to take him in out of the cold. It's freaking, unnatural.

Like, quitting my job, not bathing, and not getting off the couch until everything is organized by alphabet and theme crazy.

hahahha! I try to keep my tags as general as possible, to avoid that. There's one that says "about me" that pretty much covers the not taking the bath and that time I shaved my arm pits and my mom said they were sparkley.

But at least I don't read Harry/Draco.

I thought I had no shame but I do. I really do, and this is it.

It's okay. Sometimes I read Spangel all human AU's. And uhm. I might have bookmarked some Spander wherein claiming happens, loudly and repeatedly. There's also the pirate- uhm, no. Let us not speak of it. Really. Let us not.

Also- you had sparkly arm pit hair? Dude. Radical.

I linked all human Spangel AU on my big damn recs. And it was AU as in, the kind of AU where Angel and Spike are NOTHING like Angel and Spike. It's a harlequinn romance posing as fanfiction. It's well done for all that, it's hot, it hits kinks, I like it, and I am not ashamed. Ok well I try not to be.

I'm shocked about the Spander, though. I thought you hated it.

Stoney wrote a princess!Connor/pirate!Spike just for me. FEAR ME.

No no, my arm pits were sparkly because there was no more hair there. Shuddup you want lion cat sex and Spander claiming! Though actually are you ever going to do that Peter/Aslan fic? Because it sounded really good and I'm looking at your icon, which reminded me.

I really DO dislike Spander, hence my moral quandry!

And yes, I am going to write the Peter/Aslan. It's called Agape, and it will be baddirtywrong because not only will Aslan be having sex with his father, he will also be having sex with you know, THE FATHER and I am sure that by now Hell doesn't even want me.

I will try the Harlequin Spangel, since you rec'd it. I actually meant to, then forgot about it, so thanks for reminding me. The ones I read are the HORRIBLE ones, and I read them on purpose BECAUSE they are horrible, and it's a whole thing.

I cannot read Princess!Connor. I have standards, man! They are low, granted. But they exist! *cries*

HE IS NOT A PRINCESS. He is being sold off to a man for a dowry and it was FUNNY and actually hot and it was SPONNER! On a pirate ship! With RHYME! *tears out hair* Hahahaha.
