I don't know anything about Emrys Journal--I mean, whether this is really a big deal or anything. But omg I'm going to be published! And now I'm off to make fried ravioli and spinach dip for the party. Damn, I need booze.

Oh, and I want to use this line: Excuse me, I have to call everyone I have ever met, right now.

That is so fantastic! Congratulations.

I can now brag to people that my beta is a famous published author.

(by the by - did you get my e-mail from the other day? Optima is so wonky lately, I have no idea whether my outgoing e-mail is in fact out-going.)

Is fried ravioli the same thing as baked ravioli? Because OMG I *love* baked ravioli. I used to eat it all the time when I was growing up.

And congrats on getting published! That's very awesome and something to be extremely proud of.

Thanks! Well, it's probably some podunk publication that doesn't even count as being published--but!

I did get your email. I'll have it beta'ed by Monday, hopefully. Sorry for the delay :o)

I've never had baked ravioli. Is it anything like baked tortellini? It's tortellini in this casserole dish with a bunch of sauce and cheese, bakes so that it all sticks together and the cheese on top is golden and slightly crispy. Anyway, fried ravioli is way different. You dust it with cornmeal or cheese or breadcrumbs or something, then you put it in oil and fry it. The result is crunchy on the outside gooey on the inside ravioli. And you eat them plain, without sauce.

And thank you!

LOL. I had to go back and see which one I used. Heh, I had this obsession with making dirty B/A icons for a while.

I need to start doing them again *G*

This one's a good one too, although both weren't made by me, but did run a Naughty B/A icon challenge community lol.

Ha. Well, I know enough about it to know its address. I had some short stories I wanted to publish, but the only magazines I knew that published short stories was stuff like "The New Yorker." I doubted I had a chance to get into anything like that, so I did a lot of research and came up with some literary magazines that are a much smaller deal. I know the things Emrys says about Emrys on its web site--like when it was established and so on and so forth, but I don't know how the literary community at large views it. I don't know if some lit Joe off the street would say, "Oh, that's very respectable," or "Oh, I've never heard of it," or "Oh, they'll publish any old thing." Probably the never heard of it one, because it has a very small circulation. But it's nice to have something, you know?

And thank you very much!

That's good! I wanted to have mudslides to celebrate but I hadn't already gotten the ingredients, so I ended up just having a bunch of wine and sausage links ;o)

This one's great, too. Do you still run the comm? What's it called?

There's this one of Angel that's one of the best icons I ever saw (ok, because it's Angel). All I remember about it was . . . well, the expression on his face looked like someone off-screen--off the frame of the icon--was . . . pleasuring him. Man, good stuff.

[identity profile] ba4ever.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that was mine heh. If it's a cap of Angel looking down, then it's mine ;).

I ran the community [livejournal.com profile] balovenest with my partner in crime [livejournal.com profile] blueyedangld21 we stopped doing challenges (although we're looking to revamp it) because people had a hard time, they found it quite hard, when all I can see is sexual tension and potential sexual situations between Buffy and Angel. You could cut it with a knife!

But you can stop by there and take a look at all the icons, there's a few weeks worth of challenge icons there.

I think the cap/icon you're looking for are something like these, although I've made a bunch of icons using that cap. I believe [livejournal.com profile] southernbangel still uses an old one I made of that says "Smokin'" across it, if that's what you're talking about. Oh, found it... Image

something like these? Image Image

And just a sample of some other stuff >>Image

LOL mostly I think I just have a really dirty mind, but they're fun to make :)

I should have all my dirty icons thus far posted in that community, or at least linked to them.

[identity profile] aloneinthetown.livejournal.com 2005-11-07 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I think fried and baked ravioli are the same thing. Just reading about it is really making me have a craving!
ext_7189: (lissla)

[identity profile] tkp.livejournal.com 2005-11-07 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! Thanks! I'll definitely go check them out. I love dirty icons!

and no, those ones with Angel looking down weren't the ones I was thinking of. I don't remember it clearly enough to describe it! oh well. Those you posted are excellent, thanks ;o)

[identity profile] zibbycomix.livejournal.com 2008-09-27 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I laughed a lot at that last line. =)
I have come to terms with the fact that I will never be published. But- if I ever happen to be published, I will do exactly that. =)

It's from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, that line.
