On the LJ thing. Again.
Jul. 20th, 2007 02:02 amI'm angry at LJ for quite a few reasons. The way they handled the strike out was wrong. There were so many wrong things about that I can't ennumerate them all, but some wrong things were: they did it without telling us, they did it without telling us why they were doing it, they did it at the random provocation of what to me seemed to be a disorganized, unauthorized, prejudiced group, they made us wait a long time to find out what happened, they deleted across the board without any universal standard reasons for deletion. Basically they were lying scum bags.
And I am now angry at for other reasons: I don't like how the general tone of this latest statement from LJ seems to contradict the "apology" we got from them before, and I don't like the timing of this statement. Lastly and perhaps most importantly I dislike being told what I can and can't write.
I'm just not sure I can blame the latter on Livejournal and co. It looks to me like they're covering their asses, and they're doing so in a way that defines as clearly as the laws theselves what is and is not "permissable". I'm just not sure I have a problem with that, guys, from what I can see so far. Which isn't very much because it's late and I'm tired and I want HP.
However, I'm still angry at LJ for the other reasons stated. I plan to keep abreast of these issues, and better than I have been doing; I want to stay informed; I want to make my voice heard. And I still have a Greater Journal account.
ETA: It has to be said. If you spoil me, I will lasso a longhorn with your entrails and it will stab out your eyes while a vulture eats your brains, and then I will put your carcass in a trunk of starving monkeys. Either that or be pissed off and really hurt; I haven't decided.
