Writing for a fest makes me anxious because, in the initial stages:

-if it's an exchange, what if I can't write the prompts someone gives me?
-if it's prompts-based, what if I don't get the prompt I want?
-if it's some other form, what if there's some other reason I'm unhappy with it?

Then I get a prompt or similar, and I freak out because:

-what if I don't finish in time?
-asking for extensions makes me feel like a failure (I always ask for extensions)
-what if I don't even make my extension date?
-what if my beta doesn't have enough time?
-what if I don't have a beta?
-what if my beta says I need to rewrite, and I don't have time?

Then I send it in, and I freak out because:

-when is my story going to be posted?
-what are people going to say about it?
-what if the entire internet curls up and dies before my story can be posted?

Then it's posted, and I freak out because:

-I can't talk to people about it, but I still can't stop thinking about it
-what if the entire internet curls up and dies before I can talk about it?

All of this?

Still better than writing without a deadline.

So, I was going through some old files, and I found comments I pulled from the st_xi_kink meme, the Star Trek 2009 kink meme that eventually shut down. These comments were the ones that I felt best represented the spirit and . . . general integrity of the meme. They were all made anonymously.

If you've ever wondered what a kink meme is, here it is in its absolute distilled uncorrupted form. Just be aware that--well, it is very kinky, by which I mean extremely offensive. As in, extremely offensive; seriously don't read if you want sexual topics that are potentially sensitive or triggery treated with any kind of delicacy, understanding, or respect.

It made me laugh so hard I almost cried, and this is like the fifth time I've read this.
